Can anyone recommend a good opthamologist? My last exam was with Dr. Alissa Hudson and it was not a pleasant visit. Rushed exam and rude staff. Who do you use?

Go to Nashville and see Dr. Loden! He's the best in Middle Tn. Don't waste you time with these Drs in Cookeville.

Not a ophthalmologist! A ophthalmologist is a surgeon.

That's an OPTOMETRIST not an opthamologist you snatch.

My family and I recently moved to the Cookeville area and would like to recommend Dr.Hudson.My wife ,three children and I all wore glasses.Dr.Hudson recommended that we all should have ocular prosthesis surgery done.We all had both eyes done and she was very reasonable on the price. No more glasses or contacts for the Vansvuet family. She probably saved us thousands of dollars over our lifetime not to mention the quality of life.Thank you Dr.Hudson.Sincerely,Ollie Vansvuet.

Oh no, don't go to Dr. Hudson. She was the worst. She was very rushed and did not want to perform certain tests that come with an annual exam. I had to ask and then she acted "put out" that she had to spend an extra few minutes (on my dollar). The office staff was very rude and unprofessional, this office was one of the worst I've been too. There's got to be someone better than this!

Ms.Skip her,I am sincerely sorry you had a bad experience with Dr.Hudson's office.Maybe you were just having a bad day that day.We all have those and certain mundane things upset us that normally would not.As for me,my wife and I both had our ocular prosthesis surgery onthe same day.Dr. Hudson did mine first and then my wife's.While I was sitting in the lobby waiting on my wife I could not see anyone being rushed or any of the staff being rude.Only professionals there. You sould give her another try.In my humble opinion she is the best.Sincerely Ollie Vansvuet.

A friend of mine just told me about http://www.cincinnatieye.com , if you're in that area. Apparently, they can help with all sorts of things. Check them out if you're in there.

I went to many doctors here before finding mine. i work in the opthalmology field and I personally did not go back to dr hudson after my first visit. The office over books and sees way too many people and they do not check anything that they do bill for! They give you a very limited exam up until you see the dr. The dr is wonderful! The staff however is over worked and not friendly! I reccomend Eye Centers on willow! Or cookeville eye specialists dr galloway!

Dr. Loden may be ok if you are looking for LASIK/MULTIFOCAL LENS IMPANT(with cataract surgery). But for a professional, ophthalmologic eye exam, HE IS definitely NOT WHO YOU WANT! HE DOES NOT DO MEDICAL EYE EXAMS, UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND A FORTUNE ON AN EXAM & A SURGICAL PROCEDURE THAT YOU MAY NOT OR SHOULD NOT EVEN NEED!!! HE IS ALL ABOUT $$$, & EYE EXAMS ARE A WASTE OF HIS TIME! Have heard of him abusing his employees & yelling to his staff scheduling exams for NON-SURGICAL PURPOSES!!!

Ophthalmologists can preform surgery b/c they are MDs with extra training in "eyes" which includes surgery. However, they also do everything optometrists do & much more. Also if a problem is involved, IT IS FILED WITH YOUR MEDICAL INSURANCE, NO PAYING FOR UNTRAINED CARE WHICH COULD BE WRONG & OR EVEN DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR EYE HEALTH!!!
