Yes, Dr. Maltman and Dr. Richards both left due to hospital cuts when the new CEO came. He shut down their practice. Dr. Hix was given an option to return to the hospital, which she did, but her salary was cut.

Is it possible that the old CEO was a crook and fed his cronies plush contracts an the new CEO is cleaning up after him? I feel he is taking the CFO Paul korth on as well

That is possible... however, it seems the "little people" are the ones who get it. I think we've had physicians riding the gravy train for a long time.

I don't like change, but I know it has to happen. Without some cutbacks and cost savings initiatives, the hospital will not survive. What I don't agree with is taking it from the little people. The nurses and others are taking the worst of it, and it is saving only a small amount of money. I haven't heard one thing about the CEO or anyone in administration taking pay cuts, having their raises put on hold, etc. That is the frustrating part for me.

This is enough to make me want to leave nursing. The patients on the "Non critical" floors are often quite sick...and when you feel spread so thin, little things, which later become big things, can and do get missed. The sad part is, CRMC still has the best nursing to patient ratio around. If I left, I would just be entering another dangerous ratio.

I wonder how many other nurses feel like I feel.

I am a travel nurse that while looking at the option of coming to CRMC I came across this discussion. I am amazed at some of the comments I have read. It seems the majority of you are close-minded and clueless about the current state of healthcare. You opt to sit around and bitch when this is a National problem and not a local issue you will solve. Are you aware that other towns don't use such forumns to mone and grown? How many of you are employees of CRMC? Of those that are being negative why dont you quit? Nobody is making you work there. If you hate it so much leave, you will be doing everyone a favor. You are only bad energy that will not allow the hospital to move through healthcare reform. For those that do not work at the hospital, why do you care? You are not an owner it's not costing you money. You are probably misinformed and spreading rumors. If you think it sucks don't go that's your choice, but quit bitching. Regarding the docs.... Who cares! Docs come and go from hospitals all the time. I was really amazed to read about your hospital but after reading this blog and seeing the type of people I will have ody to treat and work with I am taking another assignment. I wish you all the best and hope you get a wake up call. As one final note, I have been in nearly a dozen hospitals and nobody likes change but I rather work in a place where the management recognizes the need for change and does something rather then not have a place to work because nobly did anything. Everyone always second guesses the bosses it's human nature but I am guessing that none of you on this site are qualified to operate even a department in a hospital. Go ahead and bash my comments...

I actually really do like change! I would like to see some "new blood" in the hospital. This business of promoting people because they are "next in line" instead of because they are QUALIFIED mystifies me!

If you have no health insurance go to Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is the only hospital that takes people that have no health insurance here in middle Tennessee.
