I'd say it has more to do with himself than it does his wife. He is a medical doctor, also.

There are 2 sides to every story. I work in RT at the hospital, and I am also very disturbed about some of the changes. It scars me for my future. But what will we do when reimbursement changes and the hospital has less income? We have to support some change or we will be out of jobs!

Heard the new ceo is taking people to hawaii with all of the "cut back" money he is saving. This sounds like bad business to me. Cut the nurses that give you a good rep and take the chiefs on a vacation??????

I have had Same Day Surgery..my grand daughter was born there...outside of one nurse that my daughter had I praise them....but as far as the ER goes, I was there a few years ago because my nephew had started having seizures, I sat in the waiting room about 2 hours waiting to hear about him...that wasn't a problem...the problem was that an elderly man was brought in by his daughter right after I sat down...he was puking his guts out...2 hours later when I left he was still there waiting to be seen. I just think he should have been taken back, there weren't but 3 others waiting to go back & there were patients coming out. If they were coming out & no one being called back then rooms were em
pty.
Obviously you know everything! Have you thought about the fact that maybe the people coming out were family members and not patients or MAYBE the empty beds were being filled with ambulance patients? Don't judge if you don't know. And active seizure, heart attacks, trauma, etc come before vomiting

I am an employee of CRMC and find this discussion hilarious. It is true that the hospital is going through many tough changes because of today’s economy, but at least these changes are intended to be proactive instead of reactive. Change is not fun, and yes some people will not be happy, but like it or not CRMC is a business and it has to be run like a business. As far as the whole “taking people to Hawaii on the money saved in cutbacks” debate. This trip is to fulfill mandatory education for Board Members / Administration. While there are other options besides Hawaii, people going on this trip are paying out of their own pocket the extra expense that going to Hawaii costs. Finally, for those who like to use the “CRMC sucks” argument…that’s fine, but dignify your comment with a legitimate reason other than “the nurses and docs are stupid”. CRMC is not perfect but neither is any other facility, there will always be negative and positive opinions for every hospital; but halfway intelligent responses are much more beneficial than some stuff posted here.

What is the new CEO's name? From where did he move to come here? Where did he get his medical degree? What other credentials does he have? B.S., MBA?

Hearing lots of rumors about his previous employments and I want facts.

Oh how I love how everything has to be some kind of conspiracy, and how people can’t simply voice their honest opinion with no hidden agenda or message behind them. No, I am not being “paid” by anyone to make any kind of statement. I, along with many other employees, have obvious and natural concerns that our jobs are always under “evaluation”, but that is just reality in today’s economy. It is just frustrating when so many people have superficial views of situations like CRMC’s and then those people seem to make it their goal to fuel the fire of conspiracy and corruption. I’m just trying to show that CRMC is not just a doom and gloom work place…like I said, there are many legitimate employment concerns but I am also proud of the many good things CRMC has done for the region.

It is unfortunate that forums like this this exist that allow uneducated misinformed individuals to hide behind annanimity. It allows more dumb undereducated people to read your foolish posts and believe what you are righting. For those of you that thinks the hospital "sucks" please insert a card in your wallet that says "when I am in pain and suffering please drive me 90 miles down the road". Those of you that are bitter for whatever reason will never be happy. You can remain bitter and angry I really don't care but at least get your facts correct!
Facts basd on all comments below you can verify call and see for yourself:
1). Nursing ratios are equal or better then any hospital in TN or the Nation.
2) Yes they are buyin the fraternity house to create parking, so that those of you that are negative will have one less thing to complain about.
3). Ratios are not changing for critical care
4). Vanderbilt is an Academic Medical Center and the comparison is like apples and oranges. We obviously will never be Vanderbilt.
5) ER's are for sick emergent patietnts. If the wait disturbs you and that is what was on your mind during the visit you obviously were not emergent.
6) CRMC is a City Owned Private Act Hospital - salaries are competitive with the region and non of your business. Why do you care who makes what?
7) "citizen that commented above" you are a fool. The GM as you called him is the most highly educated and professional CEO this hospital and region has ever had and will probably ever be able to recruit. He started a succession planning program of which I am a part of to help current employeess move up and grow within the hospital.
Where is your "succession planning program" now?

Amazing how so many of you have comments about the CEO and the hospital when none of you have managed in your life and if you have it may have been two employees! Instead of bitching and complaining be thankful that you have such a great hospital. With all your complaints CRMC is financially solid and has more awards then any hospital in the region. Someone must be doing something right. The problem is that the uneducated fools on this site that have negative comments to say don't have the intellectual capability to judge the hospitals status.
I may be wrong in this assumption, but I think what everyone is upset about is the very high possibility that the awards & recognition that CRMC has striven to receive will be lost with the cutbacks, both with staffing & benefits.

I answered my own question. Dr Menachem Langer. He is not listed with the TN Dept. of Health as a healthcare provider.

Does anyone know from what hospital he transfered? What state? What country?

Education:
Akademia Medyczna im. Karola Marcinkowskiego w Poznaniu (MD)
University of Tennessee-Knoxville (MBA)
University of the Incarnate Word (BS)

Before coming to CRMC he was:
Executive Director
St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital
Nonprofit; Hospital & Health Care industry
January 2006 – November 2010 (4 years 11 months)

And the fish tank was 100% paid for out of his pocket…but I’m pretty sure someone will have a problem with that along with his education and experience. As for the succession program; in talking with those actually involved in the program, it has been a wonderful experience for them and they are appreciative of the opportunity.

How well do medical schools in Poland compare with U.S. medical schools? I know some European schools are quite good.

I work at CRMC. These are the facts about the CEO. He has a BS, MD, and an MBA. Those are a few more degrees than your GED. He comes from a hospital four times the size of CRMC. I am sure he was highly recruited for a reason. You must have missed the town hall where he spoke and answered questions yesterday.

CRMC outranks Vanderbilt in coronary intervention, cardiac services, spinal surgery, orthopedic surgery, and many others (Sources: HealthGrades, Thomson). Maybe you should do some research before bumping your gums.
How many heart transplants have seen from CRMC? You have to go to St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville for the transplants. When CRMC starts doing transplants then they well be doing good.
