Ok, so I have 2 kids that go there, but I am changing docs because their office closes before 5 if they are done seeing patients and if they send you for a test and the order is wrong you are stuck. This happened to us just the other day. My kid was sick and they sent us to get an x-ray, but the order was not done right, so it was like 20 til 5 and the hospital calls for another order and the office is already closed! Oh, and the staff are so rude, too. Anyone suggest another child doc we could try that actually cares about their patients?

Some of the staff are very very nice. A couple of them are rude and that is just the way they have always been. The doctors are all really nice and good. If I had no patients left and work was done, I would also let the staff go home. It can be very inconvenient when you have a problem and they are gone but that will happen to you no matter where you go. Better stay doctors you know are good than to find another one because of problems with the staff or office hours. The staff leave and find other jobs with other doctors so you may run into them again.

Tennessee Pediatric & Adolescent is great!!! Dr. Chakrabarty and his staff are so nice. They offer same day appointments for sick children they are open until 5:30 and until 6:30 on Tuesdays. They are very caring and compassionate. Check out their website. www.tennesseepediatric.com . My kids love them!!!

I always used Dr. Steven Flatt as I was growing up, I am now 21. He was always super silly and made me laugh, always seemed to really care, very pleased with him. I have actually used him from time to time in the past few years. His office is located on Neal Street past all the Averitt buildings....it is the brick buildings on the left with blue roofs.

Cookeville Pediatrics is the best! Dr. Neil Treece has always been great. ANYTHING I have ever needed for my children day or night he has been there! I wouldn't take my kids to anyone else! I have never had a problem out of the staff either.

I agree with "Very Satisfied".I have been with Dr.Chakrabarty for 13 yrs now an have followed him to Tennessee Pediatric & Adolescent from another dr's office.I would NOT trade Dr.C in for no one!!! He really cares about the kids..NOT MONEY!I have called him MANY MANY times.."as i have 6 kids" an hes not once not answered or been rude.He is very experienced in what he does. His hours are flexable. They stay open a little later than other Dr's offices. And his staff is AWESOME!They are very nice an try to help in anyway possible.Over all you couldn't ask for a better Dr's Office when it comes to Tennessee Pediatric & Adolescent.

I agree with Very Satisfied as well. Dr. Chakrabarty has been my childrens doctor for 4 years now, and I came from Cookeville Pediatrics. If a doctor cares enough about his sick kids he will not close the doors before 5 pm! Also, I have heard that they are all about the money over there as well, and will do testing that is not needed on your kids just to boost their money to pay for that new building. You can walk into Dr. Chaks office and not even need an appointment and he will NEVER turn your children away. He is a truly caring doctor, and by the way, it doesn't matter if you have TennCare or not with him, he treats all the kids the same. Now THAT's a real caring doctor!

I am extremely satisfied with Cookeville Pediatrics. I don't care about the staff or if they closed 5 minutes early. My newborn has a heart issue. Dr Batson found it immediately at the 2 month checkup. The Vanderbilt doctor even commented and asked who my Doctor was, he couldn't believe he saw the warning signs. He was VERY impressed. My opinion, who cares about the office staff's attitutde. They are the best doctors in the area. And my child will have the best!!

Glad he found the issue with your child, but that doesn't mean that no other doctor could not have found it as well. But what happens when your child is very sick, they order a chest x-ray, you leave and go try to get it done asap right across the street almost, and by the time you get there to have it done you realize the order was screwed up, the personnel call and the office is closed? Hmmmm, you would be a LITTLE upset too I bet! If the hours say 8 to 5 or whatever, then that's how long an office should stay open. They can send everyone home except for one doctor, a nurse and someone to take your money on the way out and stay open til 5 like they should. THAT's what this lady was talking about. It's about caring enough to go that extra mile for your patients.

I will be changing drs soon too. i'm very dissappointed, we have been waiting on a referral for my son to see a stomach specialist for over 3 months. My daughter who is 12 has dealt with ingrown toe nails for 4 years now and we just got that taken care of last month. Very aggravating.

Its so funny to find this post. I have the same complaint. My encounters with them have been so frustrating. They have never taken time to answer my questions as a first time parent. They turn their phones off 30 minutes early before the close of day. One time they failed to turn on their phones at the start of the day for nearly an hour. The office staff is rude. The doctor I brought my child to was extremely dismissive and didn't address my concerns. I've finally have had enough. Thank you for posting other recommendations. I'm taking my children elsewhere.

When I first went to Cookeville Pediatrics I seen Dr. Briar which is a very sweet man but when my son turned 1 year old he retired and recommended Dr. Neil Treece to me and I have to say I think he is one of the best doctors that I have seen in a while. I am sure there is a lot of good Pediatricians but Dr. Treece is a Awsome Doctor, my son would not go to anybody but Dr. Treece he has been very good to my son. Thanks again! Dr. Treece!

No medical office should close early. The hours stipulated on the door is what should be followed. Situations like the OP had can happen and then what. I worked as a pediatric nurse for many years and it's become a practice for some to want to leave early. Friday's are the worst days as everyone wants a header start on the weekend. As parents are well aware of, when little ones get in trouble, you need to depend on your pediatrician (office). I have seen some places open late, take extended lunch hours and leave early. If the physician allows the staff to do this, it's their business, but if you feel the staff is doing it on their own, don't hesitate to tell the physician and how this concerns you. It is ultimately up to them. If you don't feel happy with them, find another.

They only care about money and how many tests they can do to run your bill up. The staff is awful and you don't see the same doc all the time. Not what I want for my child.
