Why is it Cookevilles fast-food employees can't get a simple order like a plain burger correct? Wendys, Mcdonals, especially the one in Algood, Taco Bell, Burger King, all of them but these are the worst ones. Seriously if you can't do the simple job of taking an order then find another job. When I have to waste my money to literally drive all the way across town because Wendys can't get a burger right or McDonalds can even get a drink right, it's very annoying and the morons should be giving money back for having to waste gas. There is no reason to get orders wrong this much, yes I understand messing up every now and then but come on people pay attention and do you dam job, stop gossiping and being downright lazy! I'm sick of Cookevilles fast-food you managers need to hire people who can and will actually do what they were hired for.

America's future coming to a town near you. Get used to it. That's what $7.35 an hour gets you.

Anytime you want an order that isn't one of the main menu items, you increase the likelihood of confusion. They automatically put the toppings on so a plain hamburger is considered a special order.

You have to consider the type of people who work in fast food. They are usually not very motivated or intelligent.

Excuse me not intelligent! That is ridiculous! Now the not very motivated I can understand though. I worked at Wendy's for years and was a co-manager before leaving to go to college. I am very intelligent and the people I know now that still work in fast food are intelligent. Please don't stereotype these individuals. I can see the original persons' frustration, but definitely can not see why you had to discuss the intelligence of these workers.

Fast-food is hard in many resects. The "daily grind" sometimes borders on the ridiculous (you want to feed a bus or two that rolls up after you have cleaned everything and are shutting down?) and do you want to be responsible for throwing away a literal TON of food per-week literally right down the street from a homeless shelter? The people in this town, who bitch about the fast-food service they get, screw them. At least you feed people. What dthey do? What have they ever done? Fast Food is the only industry left in America, at least accessible by the common man.

Here's an idea: Take your money somewhere else because they probably don't want to deal with your crappy attitude anyways! If you don't want to drive "all the way across town" then check your order BEFORE you leave like the rest of us do. Who's the lazy one, again?

There is a stark difference between jadedness and lack of intelligence. I worked at many fast food and retail places when I was going to college. Not including the high school kids, most of my coworkers were hard working, bright individuals who simply never had the opportunity to do something else. One guy I worked with at Taco Bell was mentally disabled and was probably the hardest, most diligent, most friendly worker in there.

And then you have jackasses like the one who started this topic, who think they're of higher status than those working behind the counter at McDonald's, who have no patience for human error as though they've never made any mistakes themselves, who come in to bitch and make a huge scene about there being pickles on their cheese burger when they asked for no pickles.

People make mistakes, it is very easy to do with the crazy lunch hours or breakfast hours at these places. People are people and they make mistakes and sounds like you are a frequent visitor to fast food so sounds like your making a HUGE mistake by consuming fast food so regularly

Honestly, if you want to stay on for any prolonged time there, you better know someone on the inside. Its hard to hold work anywhere in Cookeville because they prefer sex in the freezer over tact & laziness over labor.

No, it's hard for YOU to get a job anywhere in Cookeville because nobody wants to hire somebody who's known for being libelous against anybody who they perceive to be the cause of all their problems. Get a mental evaluation and quit feeling sorry for yourself!

I used to work in the fast food industry (Taco Bell), I several times got tired of customers bitching at me because the line fucked their orders up. So I would wash up and go back n make it myself. The orders are clearly printed on a screen. All you have to do is LOOK UP. Its "hurry and get it out" and not "Make sure it is right" customers have a right to be pissed when it is messed up. IF i pay for food at a diner, I expect it to be hot, fresh, and how I ordered it!

I have started always taking my food back. Asking for my money back then leaving cause I don't want some bratty ass joker spitting in my food cause he couldn't get a simple order right. I don't understand how a special order like "no mustard, no onions" is freaking confusing! Let me translate make the burger don't put onions or mustard on it......ding* you're done, genius right!? I usually then leave the restaurant go to the one next door and buy a different entree that way you can kinda hope that the manager sees that if you can't hire people that care about the customer to PAY ATTENTION that money goes to another manager that can......

My husband and I went to the Taco Bell on Jefferson. He ordered a Baja Chalupa at which the order taker informed him they don't sell the Baja Chalupa anymore, but she could sell him the regular chalupa take off the sour cream and put Baja sauce on it( which is exactly what a Baja chalupa is) at which point our 9 year old son in the back starts to crack up and says "Dad, you've got to be kidding me!" My husband shaking his head goes up to the window to pay and this girl again says something about the chalupa at which point my husband ( child still rolling in the back) tells this girl as politely as he could " if you have everything to make me a Baja chalupa, why go through all the hassle of explaining to me you have to hit a button to remove sour cream and another to add Baja sauce because I can't see the Baja chalupa on the menu?" ( it just makes you look like a dumbass that lacks any imagination or ingenuity to find your own way out of a wet paper bag.)

See post #9. I think he's talking about you. I'll bet you get a little something extra on your food wherever you go. Sound like some arrogant jerks to me. Even the child. Maybe the Mauricio's drive thru was closed!

How inconsiderate and RUDE of you. You do know that creativity of any kind is not accepted at places like this where product uniformity is valued over quality right? In fact, she was doing you a favor since she could technically get in trouble for selling stuff that they don't offer that is MORE EXPENSIVE than what she rang it up as.

. I see your point, I really do, however do you think it's polite to give the employee a hard time? She's doing her job and maybe she's had a bad day with too many customers making fun of her. If my child made a comment like that, I would have told him to be quiet. Where is the respect? Just think of it this way: if your son ends up working at Taco Bell, do you want the customers to make fun of him? What about if they call him, as you so eloquently put it, a "dumbass"? Lead by example.

I know I probably wouldn't last a day. Unfortunately I've seen too many people getting their knickers in a wad over the smallest thing. There's plenty of people who go hungry and then you have people who become unglued about whether there's a pickle or not *sigh*
