What programs are fast. I am attending Roane State but will have to drive to Oak Ridge in 2 semesters. Any other options possibly online.

Nope. Some universities have hybrid fast track LPN-BSN bridge programs but you still have to complete the lower division general education requirements.

You will have to go do some tests and clinicals elsewhere. No matter what these idiots tell you its NOT possible to go from lpn to rn completely on line.

yes you have to travel to TENNESSEE TECHNOLOGICAL CENTER @ LIVINGSTON to take your exams and them you have a 3 day clinical in another state such as gerogia, texas, wisconsin, new york or pensalvania. And it depends on how dedicated you are. I have a freind that started this with no college credits to begin with and finished it all except clinical in barely over a year.

some of these places you've mentioned must be foreign countries because they aren't states. Stop giving career advice if you can't even spell "Georgia".

Doing online classes will get no where fast. You need to have actual clinicals, not do all classes online. Several Community Colleges have LPN-RN programs. Get used to the fact that you'll have to drive. I drove to Nashville 4 days a week for Nursing school, and now drive to Vanderbuilt to get my Nurse Practitioner degree because I live in Cookeville. Most places WILL NOT hire you if you've only done online classes and nothing else. They need to do away with online Nursing progams all together in my opinion. No one wants to hire someone who hasn't stepped foot in a clinical atmosphere as an RN. Even as a LPN, that's not enough experience to do everything online and expect a job in any other place beside a nursing home. Most LPN to RN degrees are 1 year IF you have some basic pre-req classes. Just research and apply to multiple schools. Most schools have 200-800 applicants, and accept only the top grades. Good luck in whatever you do though!

Sounds like a diploma mill to me. A nurse with only three days of hands-on clinical experience? You've got to be kidding me. Even if it is legit, diploma RN programs are a thing of the past and their students aren't competitive for employment against people who have associates degrees or higher. Why the heck would someone want to hire a nurse who has taken no college credit A&P, English, Psychology, or Math classes, all of which are VITAL components of nursing? I only know of a handful of diploma RNs and they're all reaching the age of retirement.

My mom is a diploma nurse, but is in her mid-50s! She would enroll in classes and basically take the final at the end of the semester and test out of the class. She started working as an RN in the 80s! You don't see that now a days at all though! I've worked in Cookeville and Nashville and have yet to meet a diploma nurse under the age of 50! In Cookeville and Sparta they've even gotten rid of most their LPNs, because they'd rather have the experienced RN. It's SO competitive now with the program and so many law suits over petty things, they are looking for people that are disciplined enough to go to college, dedicate themselves to working hard, and doing clinicals, and knowing what they're doing when they get to the job. I'm not bashing LPNs but they think they are as trained as an RN who has gone to school 3+ years with either an AAS or AS and it kills me! College is more than a degree.. it's showing that you can dedicate yourself to hard work and can work at something that's difficult for a long period of time. People don't understand that. And as I said before doing RN classes online are a joke and waste of time. You can't learn Nursing on the computer. You might as well get the game Operation and call yourself a surgeon! If you're going to be an RN, or anything for that matter, go about it the CORRECT way because it's only a waste of time and money any other way. You'll eventually either NOT ever get a job, or end up with a job anyone in the world can have without a degree like a secretary. There's a shortage for RNs, so go about the correct way and get the degree that will last you your entire life (or move up in life, like me to a Nurse Practitioner or specializing in something) because it's competitive and the person that took the time to go about the correct way will either replace you or keep you from ever getting a job. If I had an online degree or diploma degree I never would've been accepted into Vanderbuilt being in my late-20s (or the job I have now for that matter) I can tell you that, which means I'd never have the opportunity to move up and make more money!

Nobody said anything about LPNs. And you should "diffently" learn how to spell and use decent grammar if you expect to be taken seriously.
