Did you know that if you eat at cheddars and you dont leave your server a tip that they lose money from you sitting there?? Servers have to tip out a percentage of what they sale in food/drinks/alcohol. So if your bill is $40 or over then they owe the company at least $1. Not only that but they make $2.13 hr.

The waiters/waitresses only make $2.13 an hour? And don't they have to split tips? That's insane...how is that even legal to be paid so little?

Did you also know that I don't really give a shit. Their prices are too high, and usually the servers forget to get my refills, and have also forgotten my silverware, and also one time forgot my side order of fries?

Yeah, here's a tip...

MAYBE IF THEY F*(KING SERVED BETTER THERE WOULD BE MORE TIPS!

Poor service = little to no tip.

Hmm, that stinks. I know that at some other restaraunts they have to pay a percentage of their tips but not of the food that was sold.
I always leave a tip. If it's a regular meal, out with the wife at a place like Cheddars, I usually don't leave any less than $5.00, unless the waiter or waitress gives very poor service. Tip is based on the type of service that I recieve.

I am a server and I am very happy to be working as my husband is unemployed. So I don't like to complain, BUT since the subject came up...I guess I can give my 2 cents worth. Yes, it costs your server money when you stiff them or even tip less than 15%. We have to tip out and pay tax on every dollar of sales. Also, please consider that your server loses money if you sit and gab for 2 hours. Most restaurants only give their servers 3 table sections.

Alot of servers only get paid 2.15-ish everywhere! I know this from experience. THEN, you pay out to your bartender and percentage and so forth.
It really is unfair. On a slow night sometimes all you'll make for 7 hours is about 20 bucks.

That again, some nights you make 100 and up depending on where you are and how good you are at your job...

Either way, that's a tip, for your good service, i think you should still get minimum wage.
Especially if you work nights, the drunks just aren't worth it sometimes.

That's why Cracker Barrel is a good place to work. No tip sharing, no bartender to pay out to, no drunks to deal with, and good people coming in who understand how hard it is to make a dollar.

So you are one of those servers who gets mad if you stay an hour I bet and get all pissy. That equals no tip.

wouldn't it be better to work at mcdonald's or somewhere and get paid by the hour and not have to depend on tips? If the prices of the food wasn't so high we would be able to leave a bigger tip. A lot of times I do feel bad about not being able to leave a bigger tip but some places have their food priced entirely to high so most of the time I have to eat off the kids menu.

Well if that's the case and you can't afford the tip because prices are so high then maybe you should be eating at mcdonalds and not cheddars lol. to be a sit down place Cheddars isn't as expensive as most others.

I worked at Shoney's when I was a teenager and my feet ached and hurt every single night. It got so that I was hardly able to walk. Eventually, I was forced to quit. Lucky for me ACORN assisted me with getting a loan for a little house and got me on answering phones at the local ACLU office in Nashville. You all should not talk against food service workers. They have a difficult and weary job. Cut them some slack please.

I don't think Cheddars is expensive. I think they have great food at a reasonable price.

It sucks they don't pay more though!

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
