This link will take you the WBTW website where Jodi Barr wrote an excellent article that provides some insight into the judge's sentencing. Everyone who has posted here and continues to focus only on what they, in their minds, have deemed to be the facts and events of that tragic evening should take a step back and look at all of the things that a judge must consider in sentencing. No one agrees with the actions Rachel Easterly took during the days following the accident and the judge punished her for those actions accordingly. I have tremendous sympathy for the Sullivan family and have never meant to distract from or minimize their suffering and loss in any way. As tragic as it was, this was an accident. Rachel Easterly and Tommy Sullivan collided accidentally. She made no driving errors,(and trust me, the MAIT team would have determined differently had their investigation led them to believe that she had made an error such as leaving the roadway)it was dark, and he had on dark clothes. It is very plausible that she did not see him. Drinking or no drinking, any of us could go out tonight and suffer the same fate. It may be that we would react differently or, that if we didn't realize what had happened until a later time, that we would immediatley notify police of our possible involvment. But, it was her errors and omissions here that brought her to this point. I wish each of the families involved all of the peace that the world can provide to them and the strength to endure the pain that they feel, with the hope that it will only make each of them stronger people.
I too was going to show that link in one of my posts but I thought it may be just another attempt to convince the bacwoods mentality of some of those posting here. I am glad you did it. Thank you

Now you're admitting she did know what happened and concealed. Case closed. She was guilty as hell and you're an idiot. Get out of that trailer once in a while.
Hopeless absolutely hopeless. Its a good thing this thing did not go to trial. With Southern Yahoos like yourself it would have been a hung Jury. On to people who can have a well thought out thought. Buh Bye

I guess noone here has hit something in the street they never identified? What if it were a person. The police are not always interested in the truth.I have recently found this out.The woman was wrong if she hid her part in this. But accidents do happen. There is enough blame to go around.Would the child be here if she had realized and stopped?I'm sure she would never intentionally harmed the child. Everyone suffers when worlds collide.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
