I have attended both Putnam County candidate forums to become informed. During the first forum, when the other candidate behaved in a respectful and cordial manner, Schmiedebush turned the “ Meet the Candidate” forum into an attack on his opponent. He pointed fingers and made accusations that weren’t founded. This isn’t the temperament needed of someone representing Putnam County.
Mr. Schmiedebush owns an insurance agency. At the second candidate forum the commissioner candidates were ask if they would take advantage of the opportunity to opp-out of Putnam County insurance; Schmiedebush stated that he felt he is ENTITLED to use Putnam County insurance. I was appalled that an insurance agent would take thousands of dollars in insurance premiums from the Putnam County taxpayers. Putnam County does not need an individual setting at the commissioner seat feeling ENTITLED. Putnam County and the United States taxpayers do not need politicians who feel ENTITLED.
Mr. Schmiedebush has put up the biggest and most campaign signs; he has the money to spend thousand on his campaign, yet he wants the taxpayers of Putnam County to spend thousands on insurance premiums for himself and his family.
Putnam County deserves better,“don’t’ vote for Schmiedebush”.
