Al had many homes in west and northern Michigan. all up and farther north on the laek Michigan coast and lake Superior.
One was near Shelby, then Leland, North Fox Island, Elk Rapids and St. Ignace.
Then on to the U.P., where he had homes near Calumet, Ontanogon, Iron Mt. And also Thunder Bay Ont.

Al's home may of been on Flynn Rd in Berrien county, but was told by relatives whom had ties with the Purple Gang. That he had many homes in and around Michigan,

I remember reading that Al Capone really took orders from a guy in Michigan also named Frank. My source of info was "Capone" by Lawrence Bergreen. I'm stuck somewhere where I cannot get to my information. Can anyone tell me more about who the person was behind the "Outfit"? The author may not have it right so I'd like to hear opinions one way or the other. My e-mail address is jassfool@earthlink.net Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely Yours,

One home used by the Capone Gang is located @ 1400 Kephart Lane in Berrien Springs , Mi. I know because I lived there. At that time it was owned by Myron Hecht. I believe he had purchased it from Andrews University. At the time we lived there it was still historically in tact. The house is now owned and occupied by Mohammed Ali.

Judy - you said you were there and to read about the Three Oaks ties? I have a friend who lives in Three Oaks right down the road from what is said to be a home of Al Capone at one time. I have been there and seen it, but have often wondered if it really is his home? Where can I read about what you're referring to?

You are silly! You can write to this forum so you obviously can access the internet. Why would you ignorantly participate in a forum where you don't know the first thing about the subject? The outfit is behind the outfit, Da!Search the web and you'll see how silly you are. Silly is the nicest word I can write here

big al, seemed to ahve alove affair with Mi9chigan.
Not because it is so beautiful, but driung his hey day Michigan was still very remote.

With Homes in places like Leland, Glen Arbor, Northport Point and North Fox Island, it made for great folk lore when ever he hit town. Usually everyone knew he was there after he left. Usually for a wekend or for weeks at a time.

A local builder D. Tiberg, of Laurium and Calumet in UP built him a fine home on the Keewanau. Qyuite remote, and the GMen has no interest in following him there. they knew he'd be back when ever he left. Some of his other famous haunbts included Thunder Bay, Ontario and Timmins.

Al Capone and his boys used to transport liqour across to Canada at Sombra, Ont. One of his cars went down off the ferry and the Canadians hauled it up and it is in a museum in Sombra, Ont. with some crocks of whiskey in it. Also, he had a house right across from where the ferry crosses and it is still there. If you visit the museum in Sombra Ont Canada you will be able to see all the info there.

I once heard that Al Capone was going to build a casino on Stag Island, located on the St. Clair River about 20 min. drive north of Sombra. If you go there today, the foundation still stands where he was going to build. Does anyone have and info. on this? I also recently read in the local paper that Al Capone use to frequently stay at a historical hotel in Sombra, Ontario. Email me at jamiegallaway@hotmail.com

It has also been said that Al Capone met in my area near a secluded lake where my husband and I fish. Stories are that Al Capone and his gang came here for privacy and seclusion....

Are you referring to the "walled farm" at the end of the long dead-end drive, beyond the horse farm on the corner? Hasn't this locale been mostly demolished since the late 1980's or early 1990's. We used to play there when we were kids but they started tearing down certain buildings over time. I wouldn't imagine anything would be left standing by now as they had pretty much knocked everything down since the last time I was there in 1990. Or am I thinking of the wrong property?
