<quoted text>. It's not silly about pulling your kid out. Why would I want to put my kid in a school that rates in the 1000's or the 2000's when I can have her in one that's in the 700's. You need to think about that. Some of us really will do it and it might not affect student aid that much but it's what is best for our children. Besides then they really will see a drop in enrollment and that's where they keep saying the problem is. But hey that's not your problem is it?
Fact-I don't want the school closed
Fact- As long as the kid lives in the district home school
or not the district gets the money.
Fact-As long as the kid lives in the district ,
They are considered enrolled in the SL district.
Fact-My family has kids who would go to C-ville-
there for my problem too.

Your right ! It's the Teachers Union which is the problem.
Them and the board. It's to late for C-ville but maybe vote out some of the board members and things will get better

Personally I think it would be better for the district to close C-ville, I think it costs too much money to run the school when there aren't enough students there, they could easily be transferred to Glenfield or PL. I don't think it's a good idea to close all the schools and combine all the kids especially in a building near the high school.
But this is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

First to the people that comment about myself and my children when I want your opinion I'll ask for it. And I have a few truthful facts for you, I am 21...not 20 I have 4 children (including a set of twins) I was 16th in my graduating class, I have been married for going on 3 years now and I have a husband that works hard every day so the state does not pay for our children....(we are far to proud of people to let that happen) but for families that need it I think its great that the help can be there. and thanks to what he makes I might stay home and home school our children! and I AM A TAXPAYER! Of course I was going to have a strong opinion on this since WE just purchased our new home in constableville.....and welfare doesnt buy houses for you in case you didnt know, they dont buy nice safe cars to cart your kids around in either. Thats all compliments of a man that works VERY hard. So unless its you that I married I wont be discussing birth control options with you. And it's strong people that are needed in times like this...there were many other faces on the t.v. as well so why aren't you concerened about them.....News stations request opinions from those that know whats going on and since I just purchased a home in the cville area they wanted to know how I felt. And if you have a reply to this post your name like I did so I KNOW who I am talking to. I dont even get on websites like this anymore but had to hear it hrough word of mouth!

And as for the outcome tonight THANK YOU to all of the constableville community members that have stood together to oppose this. The fight is not over yet, there is still a lot to be done and a lot of information to find out.

At-A-GIRL!! Don't put up with that CRAP!!!!
I don't what else we can do, But let us know,
I still believe that us C-Ville people need to take some of the blame .
We should have had a person run for the board way before this happen.
Mr.Metzler ,His neighbor the one who lives way back in Highmarket and the Joe's Mows guy , You should all run.
We don't need a retired teacher.
We need a BUSINESS man!

Joe's Mows is an implant and talks like an idiot. He is just looking for attention being on tv claiming other kids as his own. The board did what had to be done. With guys like joe on the board, we would be cutting things like music, art, phys ed, musicals/plays, and athletic teams to keep a school open for 56 students. Last time I looked, Turin and Lyons Falls still have strong communities and they both had elementary schools closed long ago!

IMPLANT??!!
How sad you would say such a thing.
He has taken in those kids without question.
It's not being selfish! It's called PRIDE!
It's the same Pride all 3 schools have .
IT"S SOUTH LEWIS FALCONE PRIDE!!!!
He would do what's right for the whole district.
He would be smarter with the districts money , then nothing would have to be cut!
He would stand up to the teachers union, that's the real issue!
RUN for the BOE Joe!!!! I'll vote for you.

If Constableville wants to keep it's elementary school district so badly, why don't they agree to have their property taxes raised by $500k per year to make up the difference.
It's unfortunate, but it HAD to be done. Perhaps the school building can be better utilized and become part of the tax base again.

I hope everyone saying their crappy comments knows that when the other 2 go down, the cville community will watch and laugh. Lets see your kids cry because they found out they will be split up from their friends and that their mom cant drive them to school anymore because its to far away. when you need advice or support you better look elsewhere. A lot of people have worked very hard for that school and still are and they deserve a pat on the back to keep up with all of this on top of their daily lives! They CARE about the CHILDREN and their community and I applaud them all for having the guts to be on the unfavorable side and say what should be said! And whoever has such an attraction for joe you need to get over it because he is a very intelligent man and a great person to have in the community! I feel so bad for the people you all feel the need to slander! You should be looking into what your kids are going to be going through this fall instead of commenting on here!

First of all, for several years I have attended the budget presentations for our school district. Every year, mr. Premo has made a specific poit to show a slide presentation where he has outlined the cuts he has included and gone into great length to discuss the "slow leak" in enrollment that we are experiencing. On several occasions he indicated that his job and that of the boeard has been to look at financial figures for our future. To be exact, he indicated they look approximately 5 years in advance. He indicated several years ago that we would be losing grant money and that the lowest enrollment was in the middle school, but that the existing numbers for incoming kindergarten classes would remain steady. He indicated that the addition of the new wing onto the high school was the best bet for our finacial success. When it came time for a vote, people went with thei heart and not thei heads on this one. People thought they could vote down the best finacial option and that there would be no consequences. Mr. premo also indicated that the Constableville Elementary building is the building in the best condition. If only there wwas more room...it would have been Port Leyden or Glenfield on the chopping block instead. I resent the fact that there was so much advance warning and the fight andd organization occured so late. Now after the vote has occured...there is a call to reorganize. The children are going trhougha t ough transitional time. If only there was more effort put into helping them through this and not personally attacking Mr. Premo. Has anyone stopped to think that he is still in charge and that all activities that are organized for the children and all trips must be approved by him? Has anyone stopped to think that making this personal could ultimately affect the activities that are provided to the children? Has anyone stopped to see that The Winter Carnival plans have changed? Personally attacking Mr. premo and the board is only going to hurt our cause. We need to provide concrete cuts that don't gut our services to the entire student body. I have spoken to many high school students who were fearful their programs that get the ready for college and keep them engaged would be cut....I think people should focus more on making the transition positive and keeping our children engaged. History has shown that we are not going to change what has happened. But we can change our perspective. We CAN provide our children with support and show them what it is like to deal with adversity in a positive manner. Just saying.....

First off everyone needs to realize that these are tough economic times. Everyone is going through hardships and that includes schools throughout the country. I understand there is a sentimental attachment to the school but we need to look at the big picture. I attended Constableville elementary and even then the class sizes were diminishing. There is no reason to keep it open other than it gives people something to complain about. Yes, it's hard on kids but they will be perfectly fine it's not like they aren't going to see their friends ever again. I attended four elementary schools in a little over a year and it's rough but they will get through it fine with the proper parental support. And the whole line of crap about "I can't drive my kids to school anymore." Either your vehicle is super inefficient as far as fuel goes or you as a parent aren't willing to drive fifteen extra minutes at the most to take your kid to school. If it was that important to your child I think you should be able to find time. Use some common sense and maybe your arguments will be listened to.

with population going down , less children in school, less parents to pay taxes, amounts to more taxes to keep all 3 schools open, I do not know about you, but I have better things to do with my money to pay for a school that is not needed

If the populaton goes down there won`t be no need to build a new elementary school in Turin. With a little renovation on the present south Lewis Campus, they will be able to put them all in the school they have now. No Port Leyden, Glenfield, C`ville and another new building up there to support. Great taxpayer saving. Hope they publish the figures on new wood heating plant savings against what were the old heating plant. When they want something they always say it`ll save, but never no follow through to let public know if they did saved. Anyway whenever they save here they spend there, which goes back to square one. The BOE should have their own minds and not listen and agree to what an over paid superindent has to say. Did he ever agree to take a cut in pay to help balnce the budget? But yet he wants to cut staff and wages of others. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. I am so sorry the most people know days have no common sense and mind of their own, I will now shut my trap and go be a hermit.
