So, we haven't had the best of luck in football in Connersville. Matter of fact, even if luck was on our side, I don't think it would change much. What do you think?

Furthermore, I don't think Cville Basketball is doing so hot either.

Did Sam Morris ever get the head coaching job at CHS? His 9th. grade teams would go undefeated in a given year. The next year the same people would play as JV and win most of their games. Then as varsity the same group woul have a "500" season at best.

Just Asking.....

We haven't had a good football program since they ran Russ Radtke out - he was tough and totally hyper, but the guys learned and did well.

Sometimes, but not near often enough especially when Matt Howard was on the team! Thanks to Coach Klein, Matt never made it out of the sectional!

Does the team start the "full day" practice in July that we did in the 70's? I remember that as what seemed like torture at the time. There is probably a state wide ban on it by now.

Seriously, if you are trying to make a point then learn some grammar or we can't take you seriously. Typical C.H.S. student not knowing "there, their, they're"

Snodgrass is a worthless coach and just looking at the team shows it. Heck, look at the classes he teaches- all he does is sit there. Pathetic. Sure, we have some good players but they will never get the chance to improve or win because of poor coaching and the school's program. All of C.H.S. sports are ridiculous.

Good luck and I hope the best for the football players but I don't see anything exciting happening anytime soon.

Seriously. My husband played football and baseball in the 70's/80's and said they were lucky if they got a couple breaks in six/eight hours for water. Not saying they should take it to that level now, but there has to be a balance between "cruel and unusual punishment" and "coddling a bunch of mama's boys."

That may have been true for a 2 hour practice, but not for a 6/8 hour period. Otherwise your husband would have died in high school.

The whole water deprivation thing was very old school and very ignorant. That's how people die of heat stroke. Withholding water from a thirsty player is no different than playing russian roulette. It has nothing to do with toughness, it's biology.

No college or pro team withholds water. Hopefully there are no more ignorant coaches still doing this at the lower levels. If there are, their luck will run out one day. If your kid plays for one, you'd better change it.

Maybe you missed my second sentence: "Not saying they should take it to that level now, but there has to be a balance between 'cruel and unusual punishment' and 'coddling a bunch of mama's boys.'" Of course I was exaggerating about the time period of water deprivation.

I don't want them to withhold water from the kids, but geez, coaches practically can't have them run a lap without parents breathing lawsuits down their necks now.

So the basketball coach was caught sitting on the football coach's lap and now the parents are gonna sue? And why wasn't the water bill paid?

C-villian: I think the whole lap thing started down at Thirstie's (remember that thread?).

you say good luck and you hope the best for the football players but you are talking crap about them..just doesnt make since man. Also hes not a worthless teacher or coach...have you ever thought that some of his players might be worthless? and only care about themselves? you can only do so good with what you have to work with. But I agree that things need to be stepped up. But I dont think that the school system cares enough about it to do anything...and the coaches are doing the best they can give them a break...you made some good points though...
