Remember Stouts out on 44E? They had great biscuits and gravy and a big ol' hound dog that lived outside.

So many nice eating establishments at one time in Connersville; The A&J on Western, White Cottage (now Fast Freddy's?), The Towne House, Mara-nella (downtown), King's Inn, Miller's Cafeteria even the Country Club had a wonderful menu. There was the Durbin Hotel in Rushville which was excellent. Now everything is catered (no pun) to the fast food group who rarely use a knife and fork, let alone sit down as a family and dine out.

Can't say I particularly miss any of them -- but would LOVE to see a Fazoli's in town!

The sign on Mickey's says it is to open back up in March. Of course, when they shut down in Nov. 2011 said they would be open back up in March. Maybe they mean next March!

Merriam, I miss Miller's too! Their mashed potatoes and gravy were so good... and the cucumber-tomato salad.

After church in the 80"s,I would go with my family to the CoffeePot Restaurant on Hwy 40 just off Pennvile Rd. They had homecooked Sunday dinners just like your Mother would fix. A Giant Coffee Pot on the roof too!

This might date me, but the old Frisch's on 44 West. I remember my Dad taking me there while we waited for my sister's 4H meeting to end. Also Linnie's Bakery on Central Ave. They had the Absolute Best Doughnuts!

Rax's. Milk shakes were always good. Curly fries. The girl I liked worked there.

Linnie's Bakery. Best doughnuts. Good food. That wonderful bakery smell as you walked in the door. Missed by many who were around back then and still around today.
