That being said the thief could not have been with him in paradise on that day. Christ spent three days and nights in the grave, not in paradise.
Luke 23:43......Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, TODAY you will be with me in paradise." Like I said before, even satan knew the scriptures. I am not going to judge who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. I think we all need to examine ourselves. That includes you!!!

The Lord created us to be with Him, not to banish us if we don't meet certain standards. We weren't made perfect, therefore why would God demand us to attain a state that is impossible?

All of us begin our Christian lives from a different starting line. For some it is easy to accept the scriptures due to their upbringing and influence. Others, their road is more difficult and takes longer. But whatever the circumstances, God is there for His children with open arms.

I didn't answer because I usually don't disect 10 pages of cut and paste material, secondly it was going off topic.

Sinner's Prayer - all prayer except when Jesus prayed are sinners prayers.

The publican was not heard because of pride, the tax collector was heard because of humility. Secondly the publican was judging others, he was thus being judged at the level he was judging, the tax collector on the other hand was judging only himself and thus showing his need for God and forgiveness that he could not do anything to please God through his own works.

the Bible also says we are all sinners....so I guess that means He doesn't hear your prayers either !(are you perfect? if not...then your still a sinner )

This post is to "in Christ". You are being very critical of nearly everyone on this site. I am a born again Christian. I am an ordained minister! It appears that you have very little background in biblical knowledge. You seem to be someone who studies the King James Version bible only and judges people who don't believe like you do. I read in someone else's post that you don't go to church. I don't know if that is true, but the bible says to forsake not the assembling together. Getting together in your home with your family or your freinds to discuss your beliefs, is not church so don't even try that excuse. According to you I am probably a false minister, but I really don't care what you think, I care what God thinks. The bible, which you try to use as a defense instead of a "sword" says, "Come unto me ALL ye who labor and are heavy laden". That includes sinners who want to repent. It also says "Whosoever will, let him come". That includes sinners if they want to come. There is a part of scripture you should read. Jas 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.{Grudge not: or, Groan, or, Grieve not }
(KJV) and Lu 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:KJV. as well as Ro 14:13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way." I could argue the scripture with you all day, but I am not going to. To the other people on this post. I have read many of your comments and am proud that there are christians out there who take a stand. Keep up the good work. fight the good fight. and to "in Christ", keep studying the word, but don't use it as a shield, to defend your belief system. Use it as a sword against satan, not other christians. You are walking on dangerous groud claiming to be a christian and telling people they are not going to Heaven. That is God's decision, not yours. I appoligize if there are grammer or spelling errors in this post. I typed it in a hurry!

As for commas here is Luke 23:43 from Codex Sinaiticus:

http://codexsinaiticus.org/en/manuscript.aspx...

You will find no comma's at least none that I see, but I am no expect in the greek.

So the comma placement could be wrong!

God gives us a free will to choose heaven or hell. He also give us the tools that we need which is in His Word. He wants that all would come to Him but it is our choice. I want to be with Him. If I didn't, I would be out there doing whatever I wanted and not caring about Him or anybody else but me. I "chose" to follow Him. It was the only choice for me. I can't speak for anybody else because we are not to judge others. I can only witness to what I know and believe.

God hates sin but loves the sinner whom he gave His life for. It seems to me that you love arguing. It also seems to me that you thoroughly enjoy announcing who is going to hell or heaven. That is not your call. Your "concern" <sarcasm here> is not out of love but arrogance. Christianity is not some exclusive club and if you don't meet all the requirements and initiation you're kicked out. Jesus accepts us all; it's called grace.
Psalm 5:5

"The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity"

Please show me where in scripture your idea of,

"Jesus accepts us all; it's called grace"

Grace is an undeserved gift, but isn't offered to all. Please quote your source for this information.

Jesus said,

Matthew 22:14

"For many are called, but few are chosen."

This verse says few are chosen, not accepted. As for all being accepted it says they are "chosen" not "accepted".

You do realize the inspired word of God was written in Greek and hebrew with no punctuation whatsoever, don't you? I didn't think you did.

You said,

"I am an ordained minister!"

That would be the start of your problem. Ordained by who?

Then you said,

"It appears that you have very little background in biblical knowledge."

Yes, it would to an educated man like yourself who clearly doesn't understand who the Church is. You said,

"I read in someone else's post that you don't go to church. I don't know if that is true, but the bible says to forsake not the assembling together. Getting together in your home with your family or your freinds to discuss your beliefs, is not church so don't even try that excuse."

The Church is the "body of Christ" That is the believers, not some building where you meet. Please cite the passage that says otherwise. Then cite the passage that says I have to attend services at your building of liking.

The thing is can you prove this free will with scripture? No, you cannot. You didn't even attempt to which tells me you have no idea what you're talking about. You may read the scriptures, but you have no idea what they're saying. Just like the Jews. Your beliefs are based on what you were told in church, not what the scriptures say.

I wasn't referring to the articel. I posted it for your edification, not for you to necessarily reply to. Yes the publican was proud, but he was also not someone who knew God. He believed he did though, just like you do.

Here are a couple of good links in case anyone is interested in studying the original text.

http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinea...

http://www.eliyah.com/lexicon.html

Remember the inspired Word of God was written originally in Greek and Hebrew. it is nearly impossible to translate into English correctly or to convey the actual meaning.
