NO! The Bible teaches different. First of all in order to be saved one must repent. This is found in the book of acts ch.2 ver.38 ( then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit)NKJV. Furthermore in john ch.9 ver.31 ( Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshipper of God and does his will, he hears him)NKJV. This verse states that God does not hear sinners. So if a sinner prays, God does not hear it. Even the sinner's prayer. Furthermore the Bible says in Proverbs ch.15 ver.29 ( The lord is far from the wicked, But he hears the prayers of the righteous). Who are righteous? Those who are saved through Christ. You see the so called sinner's prayer is ungodly and God does not hear it. The word repent simply means to turn from your sin (not pray). Todays church teaches that we are saved through this sinner's prayer and this is false. God only hears the prayer of a saved person. Anyone who has said this prayer and thinks their saved by this should take heed to the word of God.

What has this to do with anything? Jesus was and is not a sinner.

Did someone say my name? LOL! Of course God forgives sinners. Duh. Isn't that why we pray to God and ask for forgiveness? Of course we must repent (turn away form a wrongful course). But we will always sin because we were born into it. I know, I know, this will be disputed. Whatever. I sin, just the same as everyone else. And if someone says they don't sin, well, you're a liar.

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways...then I will hear them and heal their land......

FIRST...they must be humbled
2nd ..they must pray
3rd....they must repent

If we are all sinners in the hands of God....how do we become righteous WITHOUT first prayer...

the context of the verse you are trying to use (out of context) is that of an unrepentent sinner.....one who has seen truth and turned from it.....for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God..

We cannot even "earn" the right to pray by impressing God with an attitude change...that would be a works based salvation..

all we can do is be humbled by the holiness of God and seek his face (pray) in fear and admonition....

you really need a lesson in context!!!! you have no clue!

The point is, you don't know, I don't know, and nobody will ever know. If you could calculate how many tons of salt are in the world's oceans that would be more useful information than the answer to this question. Do you set around and think about that? No, you don't! And why don't you? Because it don't matter if you know or not. So, who cares.

Can't tell you where to find it, but, I'm sure that jesus is quoted more than once as having said something along the lines of "forgive me father, for I have sinned", and/or "have my sins been so great as to deserve such punishment", and/or "why must I endure such suffering, are my sins so great".
The crazy carpenter's son did not claim to be perfect, or without sin.
Like I said, I do not know where in your book to find this, but I seem to remember this much.

Jean Paul Sartre said that, there is no god, and for this we must be diligent- as this leaves it to us to be good humans without promise of reward or fear of punishment in an afterlife.
Couldn't it be enough to be good people[s] without the use of threats and rewards in a hereafter???
I shall live for the good of the group and its conscienceness- hoping only for the survival and betterment of man without the aide of supernatural benevolence.

Exactly! This is the same person who keeps using Hebrews 7 as his excuse not to pay tithes, when it clearly means otherwise.
