To anyone who can I'm asking for a little bit of Christmas help. My husband lost his job and I'm unable to work due to my son being disabled. I had their Christmas done with the most I could do but our electric got shut off today and I had to take back their gifts. If anyone knows where I could get help or if anyone is willing to help I would greatly appreciate it. Merry Christmas!

What is your husband doing to help? Is he seeking employment? Has he gone door to door offering to do odd jobs? Does he smoke, drink or use drugs? Are you on assistance of any type? Lots of people would like to help the needy, we just need to know if we're helping or enabling.

My husband puts in applications everyday. He's posted online offering to do handy work, or any kind of construction. Neither of us smoke, drink, or do drugs. Food stamps is pending. And other than the kids being on Medicaid there is no other assistance. I'm using my mothers computer for internet access. I had a friend tell me to post on here. Thanks again

Contact Vonda Bishop for Christmas toys. Central Christian Church for help with utilities and Baptist Temple to see if they are hosting the Gently Used Christmas shop this year.

Like I said, I'm on my moms computer, using her internet. I personally don't have either. And trust me, I've been.doing the best I possibly can. But we can't make them hire him. There are plenty of jobs but.most want experience or a degree. I'm just asking for a little help.

Its against the law to shut off electric in a house in the winter months where kids reside you might contact someone and see about this but I have always heard that, maybe the trustees office will help get something took care of I'm not sure. Regardless of the situation or the parents problem a child should never have to wake up on Christmas without anything so I don't know why the other people care don't let them get to you..

Every adult in the household must present thier last pay stub or any gainful income such as unemployment or disablility. If your not employed you will still recieve gift cards per child under 18. While your here you can sign up for a 60" LED, Wi-Fi, 3D TV that includes 5 pair of 3D glasses. So dont wait, it begins 12/14/2012. In case your not sure where we are, our front door faces Family Video on 7th st. HO, HO, HO Merry Christmas!!!

Where does your son's SSI check money go? What is it being used for? I don't believe this story for one second!

How much do you think this SSI check is?? You clearly don't know what's up with these things. This little check can't support a household for even 2 people. I'd say it goes to pay some of the utilites or a portion of rent.

I read about the Walmart cards being given out at OT's. Very nice!

Also check out the Gently Used Christmas- I read where people can drop off stuff at the park (expo hall or something). Not sure where the Gentle Christmas is being held.

And yes, the city trustee can sometimes help with utilities. You have to bring bills and any income receipts. Call for office hours.

Contact Salvation Army or Community Sharing about food.

His SSI does go to rent. And it does not even cover the whole amount. Believe it or not...but there are some honest people.acutally looking for work and trying to.make a living to keep their family alive. Every once in awhile people like myself need help. I put my pride aside and asked.

If you can't afford the first child, why did you have another????? Then, you're on here asking for MORE help. Sounds like you already get assistance. How much is enough for some of you people??? The working class are sick and tired of your whiney attitudes. You should have been financially ABLE to support children BEFORE you had them. Now, you're already mooching off taxpayers for one child, and whining for more. Take care of them yourself. This is cold, sure it is, but I'm tired of whiney ass people wanting others to assume what is THEIR responsibility!!!! Unbelievable..........
