What a JOKE

some of these teachers need a reality check or retire because theyre not doing their students any good by humiliating them in front of their peers for getting a question wrong, kids this age already get drama enough as it is like they need the teachers to pick on them more. no wonder there are so many dropouts in school. kids lose their confidence in themselves and their grades drop down, they need to do their damn job right or get the hell out and let someone in who knows how to teach and what their doing. im not saying that all the middle school teachers are like this but there are some who are and they know who they are.

I strongly agree. And it's the same way in the private school system also.I would not want to be a child in school again for anything! There's so much wrong with the whole set up.All that's important to them is to keep the seats filled ,so that they can keep getting there share of funding from the state.Pray for the children, that's the only way their going to make it,is by the grace of God.

there are good students that do their work and actually try unlike the little punks that dont care and the ones that do care get the least help and theyre the ones being humiliated in front of their peers instead of properly being corrected which is wrong on the teachers behalf

Go complain to the new school board member you guys voted in, Carl Hylton. His daughter is the principal at the middle school. See how far that gets ya...LOL

School must be a safe place for children. It takes a village to raise all children, regardless of their family situation..... sometimes that is forgotten by many, not just teachers!!

When the subject of bullying came up in the Channel 3 debates, Carl Hylton said he would be a bully. He fits right in doesn't he. I'm glad you people voted him on your school board.

I would NOT be a teacher or in child care these days! Parents DO NOT make their children mind. Just like having RESPECT, there is NONE. There is no controlling the kids, they do and say what they want! My children and grandchildren didn't have any problems with any of Fayette Co. schools! Teach your children some old time values and see if that make a difference? Yes they got in trouble, but it was them NOT the teachers fault, and they paid their dues! Didn't blame their teachers for what THEY did! Our next generation is in trouble people, look at them now? Own up, make them a better person! You the parent are the ones to raise your children.

Public union teachers retire with way too much money. Obama will tax the hell out of them, I'm sure.
It's not like he needs their vote anymore.

If commanding respect and insisting that the behavioral standards required to facilitate an atmosphere conducive for learning are followed to the letter or suffer the consequences are, by today's standards, regarded as bullying then Mr. Hylton would have been considered a bully when he was principal at CHS.
Being a student during his tenure I of course thought he was extreme. Looking back as an adult I can appreciate his no nonsense administrative methods. I fear the second generation of onion skin crybabies are now in Jr. High, I'm sorry Middle School. God bless the teachers that have to deal with them.
What would they call Doc Heavey or Jack O'Rourke nowadays? Those that were once known as disciplinarians are now sadly labeled as bullies.
You don't understand...He SAID if it would have been called bullying in "his" day then he would have been considered a bully. Those are HIS words not mine. Watch the Channel 3 recordings and you will see for yourself. I about fell out of my recliner watching that. He also said he wanted to "fire" the Superintendant. Now let's see if that happens.

"union teachers retire with way too much money"- OMG!!!! What in the hell are you talking about??!! That's so laughable. You are obviously crazy or mentally handicapped. Teachers NEVER make the money their job deserves. Do you even understand the degrees required to teach??? Teachers are highly educated, but make CONSIDERABLY less than others with similar college degrees. You clearly did NOT attend university nor do you have a professional job. You also have demonstrated that you do NOT know any retired teachers, personally.
whatever to you

You're an idiot. You need help. You are dense. Who gives a crap if Hylton's past administrative methods would be considered bullying now? It seems about 1/3 of the students these days have no discipline, no parental involvement, bad attitudes, no empathy for others, and no appropriate social skills. Maybe those particular students need a little of Hylton's methods.

There are good students in this school that do their homework and try but need help with it and their teacher walks by and ignores them and this has happened to more than one student there, to me this is their lack of responsibility and good teaching etiquette. There are some good teachers there but there is one specific teacher that im referring to.

Maybe they are MAD that newly elected superintendent Ritz CANNOT stop initiatives by Mitch Daniels and Tony Bennett. Her election was a TOTAL WASTE ! It stops NOTHING ! Enrollment goes down, VOUCHERS go up...layoffs in ALL departments...simple !
