sounds to me like you have a low signal level issue. Have you called and scheduled a trouble call?? How many tv's do you have in the house?? And what kind of cable and splitters are you using?

Like I said before, if you have a quam tuner, you are still fine. you'll get them in your ATSC channels. Its clear quam256, so your ATSC tuner should pick it up (depending on if you got a good tv or not). Some cheap tv's like vizio, westinghouse, olivia.... won't because they are set only to aquire OTA clear quam. We usually take analog channels out to give room for HD channels. You can fit about 2 HD channels or 6 digital channels for every 1 analog channel(bandwidth wise). They usually send you something in the mail stating that they were gonna take some analog channels out. The fact is, technology is changing and we need to adapt to it. Piss and moan all you want, but its life.

A bunch of people need to attend a city council meeting and ask about the original contract between Comcast and the city, was there a minimum number of basic service channels, are they (Comcast) suppose to notify the city of any changes....get all the details, and then jump all over their ass.

Yes! Attend a meeting and blame the mayor. Cable tv, gas prices, home value declines, it's ALL Leonard Urban's fault! Blame him

get this..... after feb 17, 2009, comcast has the right to do anything they want with analog(basic tv) because it is no longer under the FCC act. I suggest you all go buy either an ATSC to NTSC box, or get a quam tuner tv. Just glad you all don't live in the "normal" world of tv. They are limiting basic tv next yr to channels 3-99. Connersville is so behind time.

No matter what anyone else says, you're right, mrdaze.

The original contract spelled out exactly what Comcast (or whatever C'ville's cable company was then ... Insight?) had to do, especially since the "franchise fee" was established between the city and the cable company.
You know, the money that appears on cable TV bills that the city gets.

Maybe things have changed, but it's definitely a situation people should contact their city council reps or City Hall about. Good luck.

And - long live DirecTV. And Dish Network. Anything but cable.

Hey, thanks so very much jjd for telling us about the February 2009 changes.

Despite the many commercials we've seen about it, and all of the written articles about it, we never would have known there was going to be a change if it wasn't for your valuable information.

We also know how "behind the times" C'ville is, and every other bad thing about our community, so we don't need you to inform of us where we stand.

It seems that Comcast stinks, no matter what you say. Go to another board and explain to those people how great - or f-cked up - Comcast really is.

Yea...I have direct tv too...but...the ORIGINAL contract with ...oh...by the way it way Marcus Cable at the time...is NO LONGER in effect. The State of Indiana now has control of the franchise...not the city...the state. There are requirements as to the number of channels on basic and the number of government access channels available. But the local government is no longer in charge. Take it to Mitch.
