You can file "Married--Filing Separately" but this can cause you to receive a smaller refund. Make sure to speak to a tax expert about the pros and cons of filing status before you decide.

The Eldridge's are the nicest most generous people in town. Rhonda gave many people money to purchase their first home and money to help others out in bad times and never expected it back. When my brother-in-law Farley Lainhart passed away Rhonda and Howard flew to Arizona and gave over$ 8,000. for his funeral that Howard preached at. Never asking for a dime back. My sister was not poor but this was a gesture of love and friendship that the Eldridge's showed. They never brag on who they have helped and would never brag about that.
I feel this must be a disgruntled employee or just a plain old mean person who is talking crap about the Eldridge's.
Now their son may have gotten into a mess when he was young but I wonder how many kids or even you posters got into a mess when you were young!!!!!!
Seems like every business in town gets nasty remarks all the time including mine.
Just cut the crap please

I think the Eldridges are probably very giving and selfless with the people that they believe are "worthy." Everyone else is either greeted with indifference or outright rudeness. This is something that goes back many, many years... it just seems to be part of their schtick. I have experienced both sides - the good and the bad - from several members of the family on several different occasions. I typically let them dictate how our interactions will go and it seems to work best that way.

To call them "the nicest, most generous people in town" is stretching it quite a bit.

That's a nice story, and you're right they have helped MANY people over the years....Even after they rip them off right under their noses....And yes, Glenn was young and made some bad decisions, but what was he, 18? 19? We all have things in our past that we would not want on a public forum from our younger years, and someone bringing that up NOW is just showing their ignorance. I wonder if Lisa P has any skeletons her husband doesn't know about....hmmmmm Let's think hard now.....

yeah, go anywhere but Eldridge, Where they have multiple CPA's on staff, not some flunkies who took a 3 week class at the competitors...PLUS, you can get your money next day, why wait 7-15 days at block??

They completed taxes for me for two years. Computations were incorrect for both years and I ended up paying additional tax. Needless to say....they no longer do my taxes. AND they are far over priced for the service received. True Story.

Did you know that reps from AARP are at the library every Friday and will do your taxes for FREE? You don't have to be retired or an AARP member. Maybe you might feel you need a super-expert if your taxes are really complicated - but these people are trained, helpful, and friendly. They do short forms, long forms, and are very thorough. They put their name on the forms and accept responsibility.

this is helpful info for some but adding their name and signing as the preparer does not make them responsible for errors, missed tax due etc. the taxer payer is responsible for their tax reporting, getting help is a choice.
