the only problem i had with basil is,if he only wants a couple of years with this program then we would be better off getting someone in here for the long run. it's going to take more than a couple of years to get this thing heading in the right direction.
All mawbey would have to do is get it going the right direction. 2 years from now, who would be better and more capable of drawing in a new coach here(especially if carbon motors comes here). The best way to improve your team besides the coach is to have more to kids and competition to choose from.

If all the rumors are true about Mawbey, How he didn't get his application in on time or that he was asked to submit a resume, then our entire athletic board needs to be fired.

Why would one of the greatest coaches in Indiana basketball history have to submit a resume?? Just stupid. If he even hinted at wanting the job, they should have jumped at the chance to bring him back.

Idiots.

dosen't matter who they get, this town will never see a championship of any kind until we drop a class or two,or we go back to a one class system which will never happen.kids are different today anyway. lazy work ethics,no pride, terrible attitudes.i know alot of people will disagree with me on this but i guess the truth hurts some people.

Why would you apply for a job have it offered to you one day and turn it down the next?

Maybe the salary and/or terms were not what was expected.

Maybe he didnt realize what he was dealing with before applying!!! And after meeting and talking to the people that hire him he was smart enough to run the other way! If the stuff is true about mawbey, that is probably what is giving him a little hesitation about wanting the job. It wouldnt take long after talking them that this isnt the ideal situation. Klein should have most definitley gone, but there should have been more go also.

As usual, a bunch of guys blowing smoke. The big mistake is forcing Klein out. I do hope the critics give the next coach a break. There is not much to work with the next few years as far as advancing in 4A, so hope when the reclassification happens, if it does, that the next coach has time to build a program WITHOUT FAN AND BOARD INTERFERENCE, and especially keeping disgruntled parents out of coach's business.

Forget about advancing in the tournament! I just want to see the Spartans win some games. I'm very sorry, but Klein just wasn't that good of a coach. Of course there were fewer complaints when Matt Howard was here but that was thanks to Matt not Coach Klein.
