This has been a rumor for years. I will beleive it when I see it in the store windows. I hope they do,they are to high on their prices and they never honor misprints in their own ad. Even the layaway stinks!

It was on the front page of trhe paper.... they have not renewed the lease. While I have shopping Wal-mart, they have put the pressure on K-Mart for years now. I will hate to see them go and I will go to Richmond next fall to put stuff in Lay-a-way...

I think K-Mart is leaving town because there isn't enough business in C-ville for K-Mart and Wal Mart.

I LOVE KMART. The paper said their contract was up and they were not going to renew it. Also heard that Kroger's was interested in it. Heard maybe Kroger's putting a gas station there. Like we need another one of those. We need a store on the east side of town for all of us east siders and country folks.

was there yesteray, lots on "sale". funny thing is the ps3 games there that were regular 30 are now 60 and are marked down a bit. a memory foam mattress i was looking at a few months ago that was 189 is now 295 and it is marked down 50 percent off. people be careful you think you are getting a deal but your not. all they do is go around and retag things at a higher price and discount it so they still get original price. i used to work at sears and they do the same thing

NO wonder you "used" to work there....you dont know how things worked at the retail store. Every week this is a sale. Sunday to Saturday. After the sale ends, the regular prices are back. Youre just too late on the sales. You should buy when things are on sale. They dont stay on sale forever...duh. Just for that week. The things you're talking about were on sale (like the mattress pads) then after last day (Sat) it went back to regular price. That was a good sale you missed!

Kmart is hiring 14 new employees to help with the "rush" they're going to have when they start making down prices on the 18th of this month. It will be busier than Christmas! So you can get a job that last until May people!!!!
PLUS you'll be right there watching for any GOOOOD DEALS!:)

Kmart wasnt offered the option of renewing their lease. Someone offered the land owner more money for the lease so Kmart lost. Its sad to see them go after so many yrs here. I will certainly miss their layaway next yr.

That is typical for K-Mart. They have been doing that kind of stuff for years. That's the reason I don't shop there and probably why they are going under in a lot of places.
