Starving for attention? I'm not the one with a FAILED Facebook page up crying for somebody pleeeeeease to get me out of a jam that did not work as I predicted. I'm also not a cop that should know better. Even the Channel 13 pity party FAILED to sway the enforcers(dnr). ha HA!! Next time you break a stupid law cry up another Facebook page to bellyache how you have been wronged. Boo hoo hoo. Then post here so I can laugh too. Click away. You can't fudge the facts!!! Beaten at your own game. Maybe Jeffy's uncle supervisor should go over his duties as a cop. That's the best part of the whole thing his uncle police chief dave councler supports his nephew for breaking laws . How many other times did they break the "stupid" laws for own self entitlement as an officer sworn to uphold? Do you think he "seen" the light? HAW!!!! the fbi should investigate for a cover up since jeffs wife called his uncle police chief when the deer was set loose.why don't the mayor step in and ask a few questions about why uncle chief supports crime with nephew jeff

Holy sh!t I'm sick of reading about this. Some of you make this out to be the crime of the century. Okay, they allegedly violated a state law. Let's seat a jury and have a trial. They can deliberate for two minutes and acquit these people, then you "the law is the law" pukes can start another thread to complain about how and why there is no justice in Connersville.

The next time anyone in Connersville finds a creature that is hurt, in need, helpless-call me. I don't care who your uncle, nephew, is etc. Maybe, help connersville, it might be one of yours. Or maybe I'm already taking care of yours-because you can't.

I don't think I have to really have a leash for my dog, or have 35 cats runnin' free in my house. I can fill my backyard full of chickens and hogs. Those laws are for someone else, and I don't really have to go by them. Thank you.

You people are such whiners! Jeesh, did you even read the whole story? If you had then you would know that the DNR knew about this from the get go and that no one lied or cheated. The DNR is just pissed because they wanted to kill the little thing after all that..wth?? That doesn't even make good sense...So, instead of just fining them ,they want all of us to pay for a trial, like our town can afford such stupid sh*t. I don't care who they are or what their name is,they did something good and now they have to pay like they are some murders or rapist! This is a damn joke but than again so is this damn town and you whiners that are whining on here!! Get over it!!

they should plead guilty and save us the tax payers! dnr didn't know they had it for 2 years if you read the story!!!! they was told to release it in 2010!!!! it was a police officer calling dnr for instructions and police didn't obey the law!

I'd say the fact that it "accidentally" escaped the day DNR was coming to put it down has a lot to do with this.

My Dad always told me to avoid the DNR at all costs. They don't mess around. Guess somebody should have told the Counceller's.

The cop and his wife are causing us taxpayers to pay. They broke the law, refused to pony up and take responsibility and decided to fight the system. If they would've plead guilty they would have this behind them already at very little expense to us.

60 days in county jail is nothing like a murder or rape. It's every accused right to either plea or take it to trial and the accused in this case are requesting a jury trial. Which if all the facts are what have been stated will be the biggest mistake they have made so far. Regardless of what a tree hugger may think the only thing a jury votes on is the task at hand not whether or not an overpopulated species was saved. I truly hope the state has the balls to stand behind this charge and sees it through without pressure from tree huggers and media.

The Counceller's are the ones that turned this in to what it is by involving the media. It is going to be an abject lesson in humilty for the Councellers before it is over, I believe.

I have no sympathy for LEOs that knowingly break the law.

Has he been suspended from the police force? Everyone has agreed he broke the law.....I've seen police officers get suspended for far less. He is accused of being a criminal and until he can prove himself otherwise he shouldnt be allowed to patrol the streets.

WOW! You people are pathetic! Why would these people plead guilty? What about your great DNR officers that knew from day one they had this deer? Explain to me why they decided after all that time they wanted to kill it? If they were going to do that than why wasn't it done right away??? Seems to me that these DNR officers involved are on a power trip or something. As far as we the taxpayers paying for this, your right we are going to have to pay, but this could have and should have been dealt with the first few days the DNR knew about it, Don't you think??? As far as this couple refusing to pay up your WRONG taxpayer they told the DNR officer that they would pay a fine and his words were "No we don't want it to go that far"...so maybe you need to take a long look at your DNR officers! Know what your talking about before your start slamming people!

A hot dog cart is not a company. You must not be very successful at your company cause you have way too much time on your hands. Typical Topix Turd!

If I'm understanding the facts correctly, they were told they couldn't have the dear and to get rid of it but they chose not to. If they knew it was illegal from what the DNR told them, the question is why do they think they are above the DNR? I could be wrong but this is what it seems like.
