I lived in Connersville a decade ago. What is the town like today compared to 10 years ago? I'm planning a visit and would like to know what goes on in the area these days....

Harrrrr!!! Boy, are you askin' for it!

Lots of changes. We're a ghost town compared to 10 years ago. Ain't good around here, but the people that are left are good people and we'll see better days again, someday.

Oh. Stay out of Ozzie's.

Harrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Sad but correctly stated C'villian. Is this when we start saying we are a town "in transition?"

Sunlover, did you know the burg before 10 yrs ago?
Can't speak for the social spots(I've never been in O's)but those wonderful spots around here where you have good memories are still all there.

Hope you have a great visit and be sure to enjoy the good stuff at Brian's while you're here. Yes, it's a plug but everyone knows of my love and respect for his place, and it is probably our best looking shop.

I remember going downtown as a 1st grader and painting on the windows of J.C.Penny's store at Halloween and all the kids did that. They gave prizes for the best in each class. There were parades and large parades. Don't see that much anymore. I remember my dads 31 model a roadster and riding in the rumble seat at a lot of parades. Horses in the parades and floats. The downtown area was bustling. Parking meters , meter maids lol. The whole focal point of this town was downtown. Not any more. People drive right down the main street and keep going straight to Walmart.
I just moved back to Connersville 10 years ago and what a difference. No spark in the town or any kind of traffic downtown. It is very sad. All the old stores gone forever. All good memories of the past but not much to say about now and the future.

Sad state of affairs in Connersville. Still love the people and the community. Poor leadership and lack or caring in most arenas. Too territorial and absolutely no effort to build a team approach within our service agencies or governing bodies.

Do yourself a favor and dont come back. You arent missing anything. Park Road is dead, downtown is dead, drugs are rampant, foreclosures everywhere...it's a sad, sad town.
