Would anyone be interested in a 3 year old home built Teardrop Camper? It is constructed of 3/4" birch plywood on a 4 x 8 trailer with a sunroof and rear kitchen area. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks,

I personally built this and have used it about 10 times. It has an air conditioner, full electrical hookup, and weighs less than 700lbs. I have kept it in the garage except for when it is on trips. It has a swing arm on the rear to mount a small gas grill (included) to, a fold up table mounted to the side, built in radio in the rear kitchen, extra storage in the rear, porch lights on both sides, interior and kitchen lights, front tongue tool box, spare tire (never used), and a bunk inside for a child under 4' or just for a shelf. It has a window on each side that slides for extra ventillation. I stained the wood and put on 4 coats of Spar Urethane on it a sealed every crack with 100% silicone caulk. The roof is a tonneau cover material that unsnaps to expose just the rear or the whole camper. Under that is screen for those starry nights. I have attached jacks on each corner for leveling. A full size air mattress fits in there snug. I am 6'2" and both my wife and labrador have no trouble sleeping in it. The floor is a nice lunolium. I am asking $2200 OBO. Any other questions just let me know. Thanks

If your wife and labrador sleep in it, where do you sleep, in your vehicle?
$2200.00 is too much for a homemade, I have seen regular campers on ebay cheaper than that.

You will sell the camper, spring is coming and the price sounds more than reasonable with all the work you did. Good luck.

If thats all you have to do is critique my writing and can't figure out that we all sleep in there, then find something else to do asshole! Also you should buy the ones on e-bay if they are cheaper. I know how this one is constructed you don't, nor do you know how the ones on e-bay are.

Also I imagine that you are one of the China product purchasing dicks that don't know quality from your ass. I have $1300.00 in material and 150 hours worth of build time. You do the math!

I think observer was encouraging you. I know there are alot of Tear Drop camper collectors out there. I have seen shows on the travel channel featuring these works of art. I'd love to have one, but unfortunately would never have the time to use it. try ebay. or google tear drop camper collector sites. since its hand made (it sounds awesome) i think you could get what you want out of it. Unfortunately topix likes to bash poeple instead of help others aanymore so I would try one of the other sites I recommended. Im sure it will sell.

WHOA Mule! I read it as there was not enough room for the 3 of you. I was not criticizing you. You are over-sensitive. I agree with the other poster that you should go to e-bay. Yes I have seen them on there priced cheaper than yours but they are probably not equal to yours. Take lots of pictures to show the quality construction you claim. The right price will emerge. Why are you selling it after all the blood, sweat & tears you have put in to it? Just nosey!

I apologize, I did not mean to reply to your post the first time, it was to be a reply to the other person who bashed my camper they have not seen! Thank you for the encouragement. Again I did not mean to copy or reply to your post. It was a 100% accident. This was my first and last time on Topix and I can see that all this site is about is nothing more than an annonymous way to bash others, and I fell into the trap of getting upset and lashing back. I am very embarassed with my self. Not my style, so I will be moving on to a more reputable site to sell. Again I aplogize.

Please STAY. Few people on here are courteous and care about others. You just have to IGNOR the bashers. Hang out with the good people (mostly) on OT Dating Thread MIA (not really a dating thread)

As I am seeking a teardrop lightweight enough to tow behind our Prius, yet quality-built to withstand the upcoming trip from midwest US to AK, I am quite interested in this trailer, if you still have it available. While it seems some people assume home-built = inferior, I know better and have seen some of these that are a clear reflection of their craftsman builder. Please respond if you still have this available and we can go from there. Thank you.
