Has anyone been to eastside laundry lately ? That place is a shithole anymore. Almost all of the washers and dryers have out of order signs on them. The old lady that works in the evenings is a real grouch and gets pissed off if you tell her you lost money in one of the machines. Can anyone suggest another laundrymat for me ?

Zeke, I think there's only about 3 others in town, Hoofman's on Western Ave. West, just north of 9th St., the one on 23rd St. just off of Western Avenue, and Al's Soap and Suds, which is probably the nicest of those. It's just off Western Avenue, between 30th and 32nd Sts.

If you can afford to go to a laundry mat nowadays, you can afford to buy new clothes when the old ones get dirty.

That's too bad about East Side Laundry. Hopefully the owner(s) read Topix and will get the picture and spruce the place up. As for grouchy people, in todays unemployment market, there are many people looking for jobs so the grouchy ones better put a smile on!

I didn't know you are supposed to wash wife beater t-shirts. I thought the holes and stains give it character?

If the owner would price it worth the money we would buy it and fix the machines and save mom from having to leave her job. This is not Mike

More than half the washers r out of order and the 1s that "supposedly" r working ante worth a shit! I have severe bowl complications and it causes me 2 lose control over them some times and as a result I can go thru quite a few pair of underwear n a week. Not wanting 2 wash them in my home washer I take them 2 the nearest laundry mat which just happens 2 be eastside. Either way I spent 11 dollars up there trying 2 clean my under garments and they still didn't come clean. Those washers are junk!

Im dissapointed 2 hear any ones past troubles with the effectiveness of the Eastside washers, but within the last week or so my third grader brought home lice and I did not notice it until it was a full blown invasion of our home. I took all of our clothes, sheets, rugs, and draperies and washed them at eastside and although it took a couple washings for some of the thicker materials to be completely lice free but as a whole they were effective. We have since only had a few small outbreaks with the lice and its been a complete relief 2 get that monkey off my back.

Hannah did u happen to go to eastide someday around the 22nd? If so I believe you are the reason that my 4 year old got lice. I was down at eastside washing my husbands work clothes and I noticed my son scratching his head a lot and after taking a look he did have lice. From now on you need to was clothes infected with lice at your own home. That was very rude of you to take that problem to a public laundry mat.

Milee, if I were you, I'd get in touch with Observer and ride along with her to the creek! I just hope it's not that same one you washed your hands in behind campaign headquarters, lol
