the football team needs to be drug tested
seriously

Good luck with that..the athletic director was told on two occassions that the baseball team needed the same..her solution..was simply to inform the team that testing may occur..was very disappointed

This is crazy,if they don't win it's because our boys have "no talent", now they win a game and they need drug testing bring it on. Where do you want me to bring my son for the drug testing? What they need is more community support like they had Friday night, when you have support instead of crickets it boosts their moral.Oh by the way if you come out next saturday and test drive a car ford will donate $10.00 to the school, thanks.

They need to concentrate on EDUCATION, instead of a bunch of foolish games. Today's world demands an educated mass and not a bunch of pom pom waving cutie pies. Stop this childish rah rah bullsh*t and EDUCATE our children!

they are being educated if they don't get the grades they don't play, alot of these kids that play these foolish games have 4.0 grade averages, it's the kids that run the streets and that are not involved, that has lower attendance, lower grades and higher drop out rates.

with proper coaching an individual can learn valuable lessons and tools to apply throughout life.
perseverance can overcome all but the most heinous obstacle.
we need more obstacleovercomers and fewer suckers of the teat.
life is good... and it can be good for you too.

"if they don't get the grades they don't play" I agree thats the way it is suppose to be but thats not the way it is.

they did win a game but the there was no tension among the kids playing because that kid wasnt even at the game to support his team. he wasnt able to dress and play so he didnt even show up. hes back tonight i bet we get beat.

The kid you are talking about wasn't at the game because his father would not let him...which is his right. Don't make it sound like the kid didn't just show up because he couldn't play.

Well... The Spartans lost tonight :'(..but they managed to score MORE POINTS (40) then they have offensively managed in over TWO YEARS!!! Last time against Muncie South (here), our loss was 48-6..Tonight, the Spartans LED well-into the 3rd qtr, but went on to fall short by 57-40 after some mistakes. This is proof of two things:(1)--They ARE IMPROVING, and (2)--that the team is just TOO SMALL..NOT enough bodies..the few that play (BOTH offense THEN defense) get worn down before the game is over. Despite the loss, these guys played a MUCH IMPROVED GAME! GOOD TRY, Spartans. BTW—THANKS,'Proud Parent'..good words, and u r RIGHT!

If there so tired then play the kids that come to every practice there are upper classmen that dont play anything but special teams. they are good enough to play but your coach is an idiot. Thats the most piss poor excuse we just got tired. thats why we only have 40 kids cause the coach calls them f'n hillbillies and wont play kids that deserve to be out there. If you would treat kids better they would have more kids play.

back to the kid that wasnt at the game. If his dad wont let him be at the game because hes not playing explains why the kid throws shoulder pads at coach and screams at everyone and gets suspended from school and skips practices all the time and so forth. I understand now! but its good to play a trouble maker freshmen over our juniors and seniors. Make Sense to me.

That trouble-maker freshman is a playmaker. I don't know the details but a lot of stuff happens within in the team and should stay within the team. I can make assumptions and get caught up in the gossip but usually very little of it is true. I have heard two different versions of the story. One story tilted one way and the other story tilted the other way. Fact is neither is probably 100% accurate. I have to trust that things will be handled correctly within the team.

We do have other kids that need to and are capable of making plays for us. I have noticed that after a year and a half we are finally getting the kids to play positions where they should be playing. Now we need to just get more kids involved. I think one fault of Kirk's is to get dialed into one or two kids he hopes will save the team and over uses them then moves on to the next kid when they make a mistake.

Back to last nights game, wow! I so wished our boys would have pulled it out but they played one hell of a game. I am so proud of the turn around they have made. I am not so sure our kids getting tired is our problem though. I actually think we tackle poorly and lack speed. Muncie really didn't start moving the ball until they went to throwing it. We have kids at the point of attach but we either over run the tackle or allow them to run thru our arm tackles. Sometimes it is better to give up a few yards, break down and make a sure tackle then it is to go flying in out of control and miss them.

Over all they are much improved. We can question the play-calling, second guess player selection, and scratch our head at the coaches use of time outs but one thing is certain, there is improvement. For that I choose to give Kirk my support.

One thing is for sure. I love those boys. They give their all and have a ton of heart. Sure they are not perfect and neither is the coach but winning sure cures many ills.

Im sorry I didnt know that being a playmaker made it ok to cause trouble. I thought sports were second in school. I think thats thats the problem with connersville sports no character building never has been. However there has been a few exceptions but if you look at those it was because of home life sure the hell not coaches they dont care about any thing but win and loss record.
