This organization is sueing someone with cancer and has lost a child to cancer. How can an organization that is supposed to help people with cancer do this. Its pathetic. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Why would they be suing someone with cancer? That doesn't make sense.

First of all, ya should be givin' some details about this. WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE? My first thought was that perhaps someone scammed this organization out of some money?

So, c'mon now. What's the whole story here?

It is over an estate. They were named in the original will but it was changed after he remarried. they are still in the new will but not receiving as much as in the first one. Instead of appreciating what they are gonna get, they are fighting to get it all. I will give names when the time is right.

They did the same thing to someone in my family that has cancer . I've never talked on here before but could,t resist this one.I'm trying to figure out how Connersvillian is thinking you can scam them , if you name someone in a will it's a GIFT not a debt(haven't you ever watched Judge Judy) and the last I heard it's not against the law to change your mind . Maybe the person found out something about the charity they didn't know. Maybe you should say WHO,WHAT,WHEN and Where before you say something like that. You did get the part about about the lawyers right their playing a money game when a family is mourning someone they love. It's a scarey thing to know they can do at will what they want with your money after your dead a defenseless and it doesn't matter how you feel about a suitation it's how the person who made the will feels. If an innocent person can be convicted in court or the court of opinion so can you.

My uncle and his first wife both had cancer. When she passed away he made out a will and left a bunch of money to the fayette county cancer society. His cancer went into remission. In this time he met someone else. They dated for a couple years before his cancer came back. She took care of him for about 6 months when he found out he was not gonna make it through it this time. So they decided to get married. About 2 months after they were married he passed away. He changed his will to include his new wife but still left the cancer society some money but not near as much as before. My dad is also listed in his will and has cancer and my sister passed away from cancer 3 years ago. So there you are. The cancer society is suing someone who has cancer and has lost a child to cancer. If they were not so greedy these people who need the help would get it but it looks like all the money will be going to the lawyers. Like they need it. The Cancer society should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. If they really wanted to help they would drop this suit and take what they were left in the will instead of being GREEDY !!!!! I hope they all rot in hell for this !!

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Greedy is right , after the lawyer fees there will be less than they started with.

The real lesson here is why would you leave anything to them leave it all to your family and let them decide whether or not to donate. Sounds like maybe might be a money grubbing woman who slid in at the end for a payday???

At first I thought the comment made by Buyer about the payday was a chicken shit comment but what it really is is as expected as Christmas on Dec. 25 . and you totally answered your own question and counterdicted yourself. You said instead of leaving it to a charity why not leave it to your family and let them deceide what to give them and that is exactly what happened. Unless you have some facts what your saying is that you know better than the person that made their will out what they should and shouldn't do with their money. I'm pretty sure I know the people in this story and serioulsy is closer to right on.

i know nothing of the situation above but I do know many many local people are given a lot of help by the caner society.
they provide money to get to doctors appointments out of town, liquid nutrition for those who have difficulty swallowing due to radiation and chemo treatments, bras and such for ladies having breast cancer surgery and surgical needs for other types of cancers. As we all seem to know friends and family fighting cancer the cancer society provides much needed help.
just sayin

There are two different cancer societys in C'ville one is The American Cancer Society and the other The Fayette Co. Cancer. A friend of mine worked with the Fayette one and wasn't impressed, just sayin. I don't care any way you look at it in this economy I don't know what's so shocking about someone changing their will to include their family or anyone they want to . It's really nobody's business. I think that they sued a family at a time of their grieving should say they something about them, just sayin.

As 'Just Sayin' has stated, lets make it perfectly clear that The American Cancer Society nor the Relay For Life have anything to do with this. That's the only comment I will make in regards to this since I know nothing about the Fayette County Cancer organization.

Interesting commnet heard recently. Are there cures for cancer? Sure there is. What would happen to the medical industry and all the plundering cancer foundations if all of a sudden cancer was not present?

There has to be an attorney involved in this mess somewhere along the line.

Isn't there one very large, missing piece of critical thinking to the comments flying around about a cure for cancer? That would be:
how can a cure be made without knowing the cause? It's just a thought - not a fault with your comment.

You comment is appreciated. Numerous causes have been isolated. Quoted thought was not mine, but I deem it valid. Use you hypotheticals and critial thinking skills to answer the question as orininally stated.
