This has been on my mind for some time so I'll just throw this out there. The steroid use at the high school is running rampant. I've noticed this for the last couple years. The boys are getting huge and I asked my child that is involved in sports out there and the reply was definitely. This seems to me that this issue should have been noticed by the faculty and by coaches if nothing else. I believe this is dangerous and should be addressed by the school officials in some manner. What do you all think?

I know that steroid use by some of our high school athletes has been happening since the 1980's. Sad and dangerous. It was obvious way back then, but no one did anything or said anything. They make them sign the "spartan code", saying you won't do drugs. But then some of the coach's feel it's fine to use steroids. I don't get it.

It's not only happening in contact sports. It's becoming a wide spread thing. It is just something I believe should be looked into.Child well being should come first as far as I'm concerned. I'm not just spouting off on topix. I will be following up with this to the school. I just wondered if anyone else had heard of this going on?

If all these athletes were using steroids...wouldn't the football team be winning more games?
well

No they wouldnt...steroids make your muscles bigger but not your skills better..it will do no good..the athletic director was told about rampant drug use on a team and she just told the coach to warn the kids involved..its ridiculous..hopefully what i heard is true and this will be her and baseball coaches last year there.

Again are you stupid? I'm not naming a 16 or17 year old kid in anything. No fanning anything. There is a problem at a school with the CHILDREN. and thats my concern. Nothing more nothing less.

Please, no one is going to put a juvenile's name on here. Not if they are wise. If you don't know that this has been going on for YEARS, then you didn't pay attention in high school. You know, some of the boys go home for the summer and come back in August with much greater muscle mass and 20 pounds heavier. All accomplished in less than 3 months. Shoot, the guys admitted it to close friends.

It seems to me that when they do a random urine test on the athletes it would cover steriods along with the drugs and alchol the urine test covers. These kids have to be ordering online or purchasing it from someone local IMO. I know this would be costly for the corporation but I firmly believe that all athletes should be tested more than once a year and not the few random test which are done now.

I a user of prohormones I can say they can be safe and legal - and actually are steroid. In high school no one was ever encouraged to take anything other than protein - Some football players took NO2 supplements and stuff like that but not roids - I began taking prohormones as a junior and i got really strong really fast - mixed it with an EPO booster and I was set. As long as you are safe with them, they are safe.

When i was in high school at CHS i went from 120 to 220 in a year and i was accused by everyone for steroids. i never used, but i did eat right, use protein, and work harder than everyone else i knew. Maybe you should stop accusing people for working hard and take a look at yourself and get to a gym near you

Steroids will eventually make their nuts shrivel up & retract back into their bodies, and turn their units into tiny little fountains that, with any luck, will never spew forth any likely progeny of those lugged-up superbeasts.

A few years before they wind up suicidal, bulked-up, back acne-scarred brain-dead behemoths with squirrel-sized genitalia, fit only to be ground into dog food.
