How bout the Fayette transportation provide free rides to walmart once a week? Or at the first of the month for the seniors? Not everyone can walk that far, especially when they're carrying a 60 inch flat screen TV in their pj pants and flip flops.

maybe town cow but still didn't our illustrious mayor take the cleanup money and buy new windows for whoever going to buy the Visteon building for $1.00 from the city ? cuz $1.00 is the selling price , the buyer just has to do the EPA cleanup there . the city not going to make s nickel , now $500,000 blown on windows that were not broken . Where was yaal then ?

Urban wasted $6000 to have someone snowplow the sidewalk on park so two people could walk along it but could have bought a quad and plow for that , but neglected the 5th street bridge cuz its a state owned bridge . so if he puts in a trail who is going to pay for upkeep and snowplowing it ? planning board are stupid they cannot see ahead .

I have traveled park road for years. Since the side-walks were installed and the park benches I see very few people using them. Roberts park seems to be used more than park road.

I think this so-call Burgess trail would have very little use. People aren't going to walk a mile to shop, face it, NOT. And to another note: the so called sidewalk next to State Rd 1 is ridiculous. At best would be used by 3 people a week. Get over it. Walmart should have never left park road. The improved park road was for their benefit then they leave. They are nothing more than a China retail store. The State isn't coming back to help put in a sidewalk to no-where. Why are people so dumb? Go fix the other sidewalks in the town.

What is the point of sitting on a bench ad looking across the way at two empty shopping centers ? WalFart owns the land they are at now and have a new parking lot and building . The owners of the Park Road Mall didn't keep the place up , reason enough to leave . Maybe the mayor can spend the Landfill funds to buy Kmart or the other old center and open a rec center ? or use it to house the ems/fire/police/utilities/stre et dept/city hall ?makes more sense to combine all under one roof . saves heating costs and electricity and water . its halfway between the north and central fire stations . no wait , that would take thought , a rare commodity here .

Good idea.
Also glad they have decided to put a sidewalk to WalMart. A lot of people don't have cars and I see people and their little kids walking to WalMart all the time.

Maybe they should have thought about a sidewalk when Urban bought the 50 acres at the north end of town ? Or made it a stipulation for WalFart when they were okayed to move ?

What would be your reasoning for this response? A lot of people have lost their jobs, homes and cars and have to walk. A lot of people have lost their licenses too. They put the Walmart so far out of town and it wasn't the peoples fault or decision to put it there. I see many many many people walking there with little kids. Most of the time there is a rut there that holds water and it is a mess to walk through. It would be a good idea to place a sidewalk there which should have been thought of before Wally world was put there.

Paved trail, lights, benches, golf carts, cops on segways, bicycles, walkers, shopping carts, security cameras, winter maintenance, trash can, litter and grass along the trail maintenance, survey, case study on total number of people to use. Anything else to add to the list of things you will need on the trail?

What about finishing the east side , what about all of the nieghborhoods that need sidewalks, what about all of the sidewalks in town that are in need of repair. If we need a sidewalk to walmart then let them rich f*cks pay for it.

I'll support this as long as they put that trail right in front of his house.
