I loved the video that was released to announce his gubernatorial candidacy. It shows him driving the back roads of the state alone in a 2005 Chevy Malibu to meet with the common folk. Really, alone in a 2005 Chevy Malibu? He must really be just a regular Joe. Hilarious! Democrat? Republican? Does it matter anymore? Regular Joe is screwed.

In his 12 years in Congress he has not done anything to help Indiana. Nothing! No jobs! No Help for our part of the state! Nothing!

I agree, pence is a BIG waste of time and air. However Gregg has no chance to beat him. Think I would prefer mitch over pence. What a choice.

I sure wish Republicans would give up their power and vote for Gregg. He is a far better choice for Governor.

I am not what I would consider a republican OR democrat. I like to listen to the facts and try, to the best of my ability, to make the best decision I can, based on the information I have been presented with. Recently I had the opportunity to meet Mike Pence in person and hear, first hand, what some of his principal beliefs and/or opinions are and, based on what I heard, form an educated opinion on my own of what I feel were important issues to him. He seemed to be a consistent and highly principled voice for lower taxes, smaller government with fewer regulations (which hits home with me because I feel that our federal Government well surpasses the limitations the Constitution was established to provide). I more than agree with his statement that “We don’t need the federal government to tell us how to build our roads, run our schools or take over our health care systems..” AMEN Another point of mention is his apparent interest in the current agriculture trade opportunities in our state which calls for increasing Indiana agricultural exports, opening up new markets for Indiana farm goods. He wants to push to increase ag trade in Indiana, making us a leader in agricultural innovations and boost the agriculture curriculum in our schools! I see that I am in the minority with my thoughts (at least on this thread) and am ALWAYS open to hearing different opinions and points of view and have done limited research, so please let me (and others viewing this thread) know either the downside to Pence (factualy speaking) or all of the positives of his democratic opponent. Thank you.

“We don’t need the federal government to tell us how to build our roads, run our schools or take over our health care systems." This sounds good, but can the state of Indiana afford to fund our roads, schools and health care without federal dollars? Yes, Mitch Daniels ended with a surplus but how many teachers, police and firefighters have lost their jobs? Along with losing their jobs we (the state) lost the income tax they would pay and all the other benefits we recieve from working people. Right now the big cities in Indiana are having to let more police and firefighters go to balance their budgets. If we lose more federal money how can cities like Connersville survive? Mitch has hurt us more than he helped us, and Mike Pence would do much worse.

This thread needs to come back to the top. This guy is no good for Indiana and middle class people. Even Mitch Daniels is running from him.

For the first time in my life, I am considering pulling the Demcratic lever this fall. Not because I like the Democrats, but because I am sick of the "party of NO" and all their obstructionist tactics. We need both parties and cooperation!
