If you haven’t been paying attention to local news in Caldwell County, you really need to start paying attention. There has been a rash of robberies throughout Caldwell County. Though the police won’t admit to it or do the proper investigation into it is a “professional”(I am using that term loosely) more like team of thieves working together to observe your habits and schedules. They steal items that are just under the felony line of the law and work together to pawn the items to local pawn shops and other cash/trade businesses. They are even stealing the wiring out of unoccupied homes/ houses for scrap.

Sadly, our police seem to only do something when it’s convenient for them. Let the Highway patrol handle Highway 321 and you handle your town! Deal with the drunk drivers, thieves, and drugs manufactures and dealers. This town has gone down, down, down……

If you know or see any illegal activity call your local police and report it. Make them get up and do something about it. Make them clean up this town or else we are all in a world of hurt especially when the economy continues gets in a worse state.

I pay taxes to help make sure my family is safe. When I call to report something. You need to take a report--- It's your job--- DO IT!!!!

When I call to tell you there is something happing to the house next door, it's not my place to go out and check to see what it is--- IT'S YOURS!!!

For goodness sake get up off your butts stop eating at Frankie's, shopping at Wal-Mart or Gamestop or texting your "fling" of the week while pulled off the side of the road pretending to work.

How some of you police get up off your butts and work for your paycheck!!! I have to and I have to pay for yours...

The issue here is with Granite. Not Hudson or the Sheriff’s Department. This post was made in the Granite Forum, thank you.

Assaults are bad yes, but more than likely the domestic charges will be dropped. Which will just waste time and resources of our justice system. It takes no effort: they get a call, they have to show up and make an arrest…

Soooo the drunks coming from the bars in Hickory are not driving on 321? And I guess the thieves are not either huh? Oh and the drug dealers transporting dope from Hickory to Lenoir I guess they aren't on 321 either? The highway IS part of the town. Sounds to me that the ones complaining about them being on 321 are those same people coming from the bars in Hickory, trying to better their chances, lol.

You need to learn where the line of the town is. I agree with the post on with doing their job. There are various law/ traffic enforcement departments for a reason. One example the HIGHWAY PATROL are supposed to, get this, PATROL the Highway. And wouldn't ya know it 321 just happens to be such a thing. Omg, really what a concept?

Buuuutttt you forget that Highway Patrol has to manage from caldwell all the way up to watauga county so they are not always in "your" town. End of the day the only people complaing of police watching the highway from time to time are the ones looking for a clear path from the bars. And so if you are behind a drunk driver in Granite and call 911 then you would rather wait for maybe 30 minutes for a trooper to catch them and risk them killing someone or have Granite there in less time. Yea sounds logical.

To freaking bad getting Granite up off there behinds is near impossible. As someone pointed out; they do sit in the parking lot at Walmart. When I have called in they are more worried about my name d address not the drunk driving down the road. The same person driving with a revoked license.
