Teacher strikes in PA hurt the image of the state in attracting new business and industry. Site location consultants look at property taxes and the aggregate number of strikes which in PA are skewed by the large number of teacher strikes and walk-outs.

The state legislature is controlled by PSEA. Voters are the silent majority. The playing field favors teachers. Public servants should not be permitted to strike.
Towns in the Yough and Mon Valleys are getting held up by militant teacher unions. Only 9 states permit strikes and Pa leads the nation in strikes. Time to send a message to our state legislature. Our votes are larger than the payola you get from PSEA!

The teachers union is in bed with the politicians, It is in violation of the Racketeering and Corrupt Organization Act. The ACLU should investigate this incestuous and corrupt relationship. PSEA bought and paid for about 75 % of the state legislature. Too many state senators and representatives are beholden to the PA State Education Association.

The last time I checked 'Professionals' (in the classic sense) were not in unions, generally maintained their own office/practice and definitely did not strike. Teachers want the best of both worlds. When I did my undergraduate work there were 2 kinds of people who were education majors: 1st Those who were passionate about teaching as a vocation and 2nd those who could not make the grade in any other major and fell into teaching as a last resort. I fear that the latter have taken control of the teaching trade. Too bad.

PSEA owns the state legislature especially in western PA. Vote all of the local politicians out unless they end teacher strikes in PA.

Go to www.stopteachersstrikes.com and you will be able to find out if your local state legislator is on the take and getting money from the teachers union
