I know all martial arts teach self confidence but, if you want to see techniques that can only be found here you should try out CATKD. They are truly amazing. Try them out for free while you try other martial arts or compare them to your style of martial arts. Trust me, you will be amazed too. They will not only teach you anything you can possibly learn from other local instructors but, they will teach you things that other instructors can't do or teach. Don't believe me find out for yourself.

CATKD not only teaches kids tae kwon do and other martial arts skills but it also teaches respect and self control. The instructors care about each student and helping them reach their full potential. It is the best studio in the area!!!

Used to think this was a great studio..
The instructor takes all the fun out of it by focusing solely on financial problems. It is one thing to talk to parents about paying dues on time but it is another thing to spend the entire class putting stress on the kids about how they need to pay their dues and buy their equipment through you. Those are problems and stresses that kids dont need and you should never waste the class time they are paying you for talking to them about things they have no control over. Take more time focusing on all of your students, girls and boys alike (believe it or not they are equal and deserve to be treated as so), listen to what they have to say and never compare one student to another as better or more talented, everyone works very hard to learn this art and deserves the time and attention they are paying for.

stopped going because it became less about the kids and the art and more about the instructors problems. Just being honest!

This place has gone downhill, nothing great about it anymore. The instructor doesnt care about the kids, he just cares about his own financial downfalls. He puts stress on the kids and doesnt focus as some kids as much as others. The female instructor is great but she isnt able to be at practices :( The male instructor stinks with kids and wastes half the class either talking about his problems, putting down his eldest son, or talking to the parents rather than watching over his students and teaching them what they are paying to learn.

ALSO.. he passes students for testing when they completely fail or mess up a form, he does this so he can get the money they are paying to test. How do you know if your kids is actually learning and improving if he passes everybody regardless of how they do. simply terrible.

This used to be true but its such a shame. now he has contracts and the price has gone up, and the quality has definitively gone down.

There are no more free trials and he forces contracts on you, and makes you pay via autopay through your bank acct... which means he has your info and at any time can take money from your acct without notice. beware.

For the record, I have always offered and still do offer a free trial lessons period to ALL new students (about a week or TWO). I also always have and still offer students a NO CONTRACT pay as you train option for students who do not wish to commit to their training and our school. If you don't want to sign a contract we won't force you.(good luck finding another studio that will offer you the same)Students under a contract receive a reduced rate for their commitment. Please note if we have taken ANY payment from ANYONE'S account, it is because they owe it to our studio (under contract). It IS AGAINST THE LAW TO TAKE ANY PAYMENT FROM ANYONE JUST BECAUSE WE FEEL LIKE IT! We never have and never will! Or I'm sure you would be reading much worse reviews. Our industry's customer service can only go so far. We are bond by the regulations of the organizations we teach under (WTF, World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters to name a few). We CAN NOT allow a few unsatisfied customers to depict how we are told to run our studio. If we allow students/parents to pick and choose how we run our studio, then I'm sure they would change everything we teach to suit their needs and we would not be in business for long. All students of ANY martial art have a responsibility to pay tuition, train hard, learn/improve and bring more students (help our family grow!) Good luck with your next instructor and God Bless.

In over 13 years of teaching in the Connellsville area, we have only increased our prices ONCE! Our prices are still BELOW our competitors. No product or service ever stays the same price forever. As our costs go up, our prices have to reflect this increase. We can not be expected to pay for someone's training without making revenue to keep our studio in business. Contracts help us receive payments in a timely manner and also offer you savings on your tuition. Please, check out our competitors, stop by to see for yourself, make your own opinion and decide which studio is the right studio for you. Good luck and God Bless.

WOW! Please come by and see for yourself. None of this is true! I wish someone could come up with a website to rate your customers! Some of them are truly out to hurt you and your business! The organizations we belong to depict how we run our business and teach our chosen martial art. We have some truly good/dedicated/paying students. After over 25 years of experience and over 15 years of teaching, I guess some of the students/parents feel they know more about our chosen martial art than we do! All of our testing fees are spent on memberships, certificates and belts/stripes. Some students have test anxiety (didn't perform well on their test) and some show improvement (apparently not enough for you). Some people simply can't be accountable for their opinions. Please check us out for yourself. Good Luck and God Bless.

If asking students to refer new students to our family and to purchase their equipment from us (so they all have the correct equipment required) is such a turn off then I'm sure they are in for a big surprise at ANY martial art studio they should join. We do not and have NEVER showed favoritism to any of our students boy or girl! Sometimes parents and students alike have issues/concerns that they must discuss with the instructor and they simply will not wait. Sometimes we have to make an announcement to the students to clearly let them know the correct way to do something and what is expected of them. This is only because some parents simply drop their children off and run out the door, never taking the time to ask or care. We ONLY make announcements when it is necessary to reach some of the hard to reach parents. Martial arts is not about popsicles, parties and customer service it is about safety, training, improvement, dedication and loyalty (helping your studio grow) and should not be about what ANY parent/student wishes you to change to suit their needs. It is what it is! We teach what we teach! We are what we are! I'm sorry but, I'm sure the world Tae Kwon Do Headquarters would have a different opinion than you. This IS where my loyalty lies, with my chosen martial art. Thanks for the comment? Good luck and God Bless
