The student was warned that he would be sat on, and then continued to break the rules by laying on a bench where you're only supposed to sit. By age 14 boys have wrestled around a lot and know what it feels like to be sat on. The student knew that the principal was a well-built and heavy adult, as he admitted in the news video. So he knew what he was in for if he kept disobeying. He did it anyway and he got sat on. Of course it was heavy and hard to breathe, the student knew it would be. Obviously he survived and nothing was broken or damaged except his pride. I bet the kid will never break that rule again.

I totally agree with you. If he wasn't laying on the bench, he would not have been sat on. He learned a life lesson because if he did that at a mall, someone real heavy may not have seen him and sat on him not meaning too. If the heavy person then had trouble getting up immediately due to health problems, he could have suffered a lot longer. When I calculated the sitting time, it was less than a minute. I think the punishment did fit the situation. I think the student was more embarrassed than anything and shocked that someone disciplined him. He has to remember, nobody made him lay down, he choose to lay down and be defiant. I'm sure the student learned a lesson.
