It appears that Sirus, and his family had angels looking out for them. Yes, animals have guardian angels too. I'm so glad Sirus's human family is alright. Is Sirus going to be ok? Hopefully The ASPCA will get involved and set up a reward to catch this creep. Does the family or any neighbors have security cameras set up outside? Hopefully some witnesses will step up to the plate, and help out.

GET WISE & GET ARMED, people!

The wolf is always at the door. I have said this for AGES....you need to be prepared, just like a fire drill at home or safety equipment in a automobile...you need to be prepared for anything; including home invasions.

These people were VERY Prepared: Guard Dog, loaded firearm, someone on the premises that KNOWS how to service a weapon, presents of mind to hide the baby...all very well thought out. Too bad the dog had to take the whack.

LESSION TO BE LEARNED: Look folks, even after they shot the dog, the home invaders continued to kick in the door. GET WISE & GET ARMED...human vermin will stop at nothing! Police protection is down and criminals are up on the latest methods of attack. It's up to us to protect ourselves.

Too bad that the home invaders were not struck by the bullet fired by the home owners. Thank Goodness that the home owners were not injured and that they were armed.

GET WISE & GET ARMED!

I can't believe the dog survived. Dogs are wonderful and loyal. How many people would take a bullet for you?

We are partial to German Shepards. I am glad the family and the dog are safe. We have two german shepards for several reasons; one for security and two for companionship. God is good.
A good thing the fiancee had a gun. Things could have turned out much morse. As the previous blogger indicated, you need to be prepared. It is to bad he did not have a better shot on the intruder. Hopefully the intruder will be caught and charged!!!!

"The economy is bad, people are getting desperate, they know that the sheriff's (deputies) are laid off"

How would the police have prevented this? You think the police would have been there to prevent the robbery had there been more of them on the street?

Police are reactive. They don't protect anyone in particular.

Good thing the victim had a gun to protect himself or he may be out of some money and perhaps dead.

This time CC I'm agreeing with you. These folks were protecting their home and their lives. This is the place to have that gun ready and be prepared to use legal deadly force.
The dog was the key here. Had he not diverted the invader the victim might not have gotten that chance.
But your point is well taken in this case.

Great job Sirus. Now tell me why someone would CASH their refund check instead of depositing it in a bank account? You carry any amount of cash and you will put yourself at risk.

I knew this was going to happen as soon as I read that all the deputies were laid off.I thought it would happen sooner. My protectors are named Mr.Winchester, and Mr. Walther.

Michelle & Family,
Your dog did exactly was he was put on this earth to do.You are SO LUCKY to have hime! Thank God your family, including Sirus, survived. Please, write a letter to the City, to the State Congress, and any one else who will listen, and tell them this could have been avoided. More police, more deputies, etc. Use this as an opportunity to maybe save someone else's life.Make some noise, who knows, maybe someone will actually listen!

WAY TO GO SIRUS!!! I truly believe that God sends his angels to us, and often they are covered in fur. My German Shepherds have performed miracles. I am a diabetic. I was having a severe insulin reaction (blood sugar was dangerously low)one morning and was unable to function. Zoe worked and worked until she got me sitting in an upright position and Annie brought me a snickers bar. They have no formal training, they are just my girls. I truly thank the Lord for putting them in my life.(We still don't know where Annie got the Snickers bar.) Again, WAY TO GO SIRUS! If he hadn't sounded the alarm, the outcome may have been very different.
