We already have 2 cats or I would take these beautiful, loving cats in a second. They showed up on our back deck and refuse to leave. They love children and even walk with us to the bus stop. Will only send to a good, loving home that promises to not leave them out in the cold as that is how they ended up finding us. Will send pics if interested. They are beautiful. The kitten is several months old and is no longer nursing but is very attached to his Mommy. Would love for them to be able to stay together but will split up if needed. Will deliver if necessary. It is very important that they find a loving forever home before the cold weather gets here! The shelter is not able to take them in until the end of October!

Please don't take them to that terrible APL! Call all the vets in the phone book to inquire if they know anyone with a warm barn (at the very least). Good luck!

Thank you. Why should I avoid the APL? I have an appointment with them on October 29th, the soonest they could get me in, but they need a home before then so we're going to make sure we find them one.

In reply to the person who thinks people with barns want stray cats. Some might say alright if they don't already have a cat or two or own livestock. However most farmers would say no to the cats. The reason is that no one with any type of livestock wants catshit in their feed or hay supply. These feeds and hay cost more money than most would guess. The hay is also not replaceable once the hay supply for the year is exhausted.
The animals on farms can also catch a variety of diseases from cat shit in the soil or on the feed supply. These animals are being prepared for USDA meat sales or too sell milk into the human food chain. The animals are very costly and not easily replaced as sometimes they play a genetic factor for the farms breeding stock.
So I hope you get it that farmers with barns DO NOT WANT CATS dumped off. All you will do is probably get the animal killed by getting it shot ,drowned or electrocuted.
So I hope this bit of honesty will help save cats from being placed where they are usually not wanted. Imagine kitty getting speared with a pitch fork or worse before thinking a barn is the answer. You really do have to ask to find someone willing to take the cats.
I think you could try a different city and ask if the shelter has room.
