How can any parents be so pathetic that they would have allowed their child to even purchase such a shirt let alone wear it. I thought this ignorant mentality died out a long time ago.

This is reason enough for the school board to send the administrator, who made the stupid decision to begin with to have the child arrested, to counseling. This administrator has set in motion actions that speak to his/her lack of judgement. If i were the superintendent this person would be immediately transferred out of the school and offered either counseling or the opportunity to resign....the student didn't disrupt the school nearly as much as the stupid handling of the issues by the administrator.

B/c the "N" word, is AA word.

If we had a shirt on that said Honkey, that wouldn't be offensive, but if you wear a shirt, that has so many bad memories attached to it, that is just ignorant and horrible.

No, a shirt saying Honkey would neither affend whites or balcks if a white person were to wear it.

yes, it is ok for a rapper to wear a shirt with the "N" word. it is not a double standard. that is of course if the rapper is black. now, a white, southern boy wearing a kkk shirt, is promoting violence and white supremacy. this would also be true if a white person wore a shirt with the "N" word. now, if there were a shirt in question that used the word honkey or cracker, it might make some angry, but it just does not have the history of oppression, violence and hatred that the kkk, and the "N" word have. it is just not the same. it is like comparing apples and oranges, there is no common ground except that they are both fruit.

Are you kidding me how is this insulting white people , a black person did not wear a shirt that said honkey. If you are tired of the double standards then read your history because the white people wrote it.I live in South Carolina my husband just returned from Iraq,I deal with the double standards daily and my daughter attends Clemson University and she deals with it also. Is it okay ? No!!!!! We need to teach our children at an early age that it is not okay to dislike people because of the color of a persons skin.South Carolina is our home and I talked my husband into moving back after we returned from Germany and my daughter got excepted to clemson .I regret it so much. I have meet some really nice people in Simpsonville but it only takes one person to make it bad for a group of people.Being a closed mined person you miss out on so much. This is a child that wore a kkk t-shirt to school for what ????????

Im all for letting people where whatever sort of "KKK" or "n word" shirt they want...regardless of color. Saves so much time when we know who an idiot is just by looking at them.

Let's not miss the point here. The student wanted to cause a disruption in school and did. Racism aside this is a question of discipline and order. When this student deosn't get the negative attention they want from their Klannery they'll start setting fires or pissing in the class room.

I worked wit kids for years in non-profits and know exactly what kind of kid this is. Bad with parents who won't "take him to the woodshed" where he belongs. All this talk about double standards is just a distraction from the fact this hellion needs to be taught how to act civilized before he becomes an adult and ends up in jail.
