South Carolina Sen. Proposes Sin Tax on Magazines

Apr 1, 2008 | Posted by: Top Ex Ed | Full story: www.ksdk.com

It could cost more to see naked babes in South Carolina. At least that's what one state senator wants in the Palmetto State.

Greenville Republican Mike Fair wants to impose a 20 percent sin tax on magazines like Playboy and Hustler.

Senators or law makers in general should stop trying to legislate morality! This is a free country with separation of church and state. NO official should be making ANY law that has to do with 'sin'.

Separation of church and state? Who said morality is always linked with religion? I don't know if over-taxation is the answer.

Mike Fair is a drooling idiot. Just a few years ago, he tried to push a law through the SC assembly making it a 3-year misdemeanor for a male to have a boner showing through his pants, or to have "engorged nipples" showing through his shirt. Just one engorged nipple would have gotten a man, or woman, imprisoned for three years, even though it was covered with a garment.

Fair is a fundamentalist kook, the kind for which this little ditty was composed:
"Abstinence makes the church grow fondlers."

Matter of fact at Fair's church the pastor and minister of music got into a bloody fistfight on the church lawn over the former begetting a child on the wife of the latter.

Don't you just loooooove fundies? They make a real carnival out of life in the red states.

Since the Supreme Court has ruled that "community" standards apply to such things, probably not a violation.

An outspoken politician railing against the sex publishing industry??

How long before he's busted for having sex with underage transsexual prostitutes?

The louder they squawk in public, the more they have to hide.

Have you ever looked at the men who are in congress? Wonder how many of them read this smut? Now they want to tax that too? They sure aren't angels by a long shot. GREEDY ASS PEOPLE anyhow. Next thing you know you will be taxed for going to the toilet or making love to you spouse. Whats next?

It's going to be an accounting nightmare for the state when the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue comes out.

I'd love it, except I'm usually distracted that week. Today too...
