I have a 60 pound chocolate lab (3 years n change) and a 110 pitbull (6 years), if you are going to make ordinances based off a dogs temperment, poodles are the most prone to attack, so ban them. MY lab is by far the more likely to bite than the pit, she has bit 3 dogs (who provoked her) and the pit hasn't done anything. Like people dogs get irritable and honary so that has to be understood. If you ban a pit you got to ban rots, dobermans, poodles, my lab, chows, caine corso mastiffs, german shepards, and all sorts of dogs that can rip your head off. How about offering to help your neighbor dog proof their yard, thats what we did when an idiot neighbor of mine had his dogs getting out. And if your sole argument is that these animals are big enough to hurt someone, then horses, cows, goats, and any dog or cat over 14 pounds should be banned. How about you the person who wants to ban pits move to denver CO, were there is a ban in place for pits.

Pitbulls are mild mannered dogs and do not always attack just because it's their nature like any other animal, person, fish, bird and so on...everything has to be provoked to be tempermental. My mom's cocker spaniel is more aggressive than any pitbull I've ever seen. If you're intimidated but an animal that I know for a fact is nothing but a big, sobering baby...then you might as well be afraid of my 5 month old nephew as well.

Pits, if they are raised in a mild manner, not trained to fight and be aggressive are in fact the best dogs ever. If you want and ordinance on pits, you might as well put an ordinance on anything that anyone would call a pet. I've been bit by a guinea pig, several times...hum...I wonder if there is some kind of ordinance that can be put on that...

My daughter has 2 pit bulls and they are extremely sweet and very well mannered. I must say, more well mannered than my chihuahua. I was one of those people that was afraid of Pit Bulls because of their "reputation" before my daughter got hers. I tried everything to talk her out of having that breed. I am very ashamed that I let the hype prejudice me against the Pit Bull breed in the past. The problem with the Pits is not the breed but the selfish "Michael Vicks" that use them for their monetary gain. They use the Pit to fight because of their loyalty to their master and their powerful jaw strength. If an ordinance is passed against any canine breed there should be a long list of breeds mentioned such as, poodles, chihuahuas, cocker spaniels, pomeranians, labs, and many many more. Of the above mentioned dogs the only one that I have NOT been bitten by is the Pit Bull.

This woman should understand that she has bad neighbors, not bad dogs. To put a blanket over ALL Pit Bulls and try to have them banned is unfair.
My Pit Bull was attacked by 2 Huskies in Horn Lake, and I did not call to regulate the entire breed. I understand that there is good and bad in every breed, and the particular owner of those dogs should be punished.

I spoke with Barbara last night on the phone.
She told me that she was disappointed with the news station because they made it look like she wanted Pits banned.
She told me that IS NOT what she wants.
She said and I quote "I don't care if you have a Poodle, a Tiger, or a Pit Bull, you should be a responsible pet owner period, and not let your dog get out".

I am a Pit Bull owner and I totally agree with that!

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
