More arrests are expected? Absurd.

These are productive people bringing much needed revenue into our community. Wouldn't in be great if we were (as a State) collecting sales and income tax on this product instead of spending hundreds of millions to prosecute and incarcerate these people? Sweet Jesus.

OMG!! Marijuana, whether legal or illegal, she must be the most stupid person on earth.
Does anyone see the "interstate traffic of an illegal substance" added to all those charges she is now facing.
To Jesse, these are not productive people, while the law is what it is, these are people enjoying the profits of criminal enterprises. Once the law changes and it will eventually then you can say they are productive people bringing revenue into the community.

You're right Justice, they should give up farming and go into something more honorable like mortgage banking.

Farming is great, we don't have enough farmers. But grow something that is currently legal.
I don't know what the reference to mortgage banking is, but any legal enterprise is honorable. Cleaning houses, toilets, digging ditches, building birdhouses, mansions, or pulling weeds or designing 3 piece suits. all legal, all honorable.

She wasn't the Mexican drug cartel. She was just a farmer. She would have spent that money in Chico and surrounding area and whould have generated tax revenue eventually. This is so bass Ackwards. I wish they'ed leave the old hippies alone and go after the Mexican drug cartels.Marajuana should be legal

Well, she should have known. You aren't supposed to mail marijuana; you're supposed to drive it in a car that has expired registration and a busted tail-light while speeding.

It is time we legalize pot. The largest cash crop in the State. And its users and producers don't pay a dime in taxes.

This is quite funny, and often true it seems... but also underscores the fact these people aren't exactly criminal masterminds. Just legalize already. This modern prohibition is ridiculous.

Excuse me swampie! I am a legal medical marijuana user. I pay the doctor $165.00 annually. I fuel my vehicle to travel to the doctor in Grass Valley, and the dispensary (in Colfax) and I pay taxes on that fuel. I buy all my fertilizers and such at Northern Star Mills, and pay taxes on everything. Why do you ASSUME that users don't pay taxes...I pay taxes everyday on household items, and CRV, fuel taxes, sales tax, and even taxes on my disability retirement! It should be legalized and taxed by the government like everything else!

But some woman grows pot up in Concow, she is busted, her property will be taken from her, and her life is ruined. Maybe she was growing the weed because illegals have taken the jobs. people, citizens are being victimized and treated as second-rate in their own country while judges, lawyers, public employees profit, paid wages far above the averages of the communities and people they serve. Private sector employers in the blue-collar want bilingual now. They get special tax breaks for hiring minorities.
The 80 percent of Chiefs of Police go out on disability within two years of their retirement and cash out big, Hagerty. Then they become ranchers, ride horses, motorcycles, Viegas. Half of their income is tax-free and they get lifetime medical.
We the people are being screwed so badly by those who profess to represent and protect us.

"Agents with the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on the home of Deborah Carol Sadler, 51, and found 12 pounds of pot, packaged for sale, 160 growing, healthy marijuana plants, a loaded .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol and a 20-gauge shotgun."

Awwww, not only will she face charges for illegal growing and dope dealing, she will likely have weapons charges added. I can't find the statute but I believe there are extra criminal charges that can be brought against armed dope dealers.

Take hope, armed criminal doper potheads, there is a political party for in California just for you!

I guess in your Marxist tyrannical world, a person is not allowed to own guns? No crime there, I hope. Unless she is a felon.
