Contract awarded for train depot restoration

The Dexter Tourism Committee opened five bids last week on a proposal to restore the train depot located at Northwest Main in downtown Dexter.

I live in an old railroad depot and wish we could totally restore it. They are built like a brick shit house....You can't find anything like it these days. It is funny seeing other depot's because eventhough some changes have been made to our house, one can tell that it is the same thing! I hope the one mentioned in the article does get restored. There aren't many left.

I am so glad they are doing this. My dad worked on the railroad here. It was almost an everyday thing for me to go down there.
