"Dahlberg said he removed himself from the event because he did not want to share the stage with a group considered by some to be a "full-on hate group.""

A group? One man on the Lexington Tea Party agenda is a group now?

Sounds like this young man has a problem. How will he deal with those he doesn't agree with on Beacon Hill? Run away? How will that help the 3rd Middlesex district?

Was he afraid he would be exposed to a differing opinion and might learn something that doesn't fit with his closed mind?

He obviously has a lot to learn about how to work with those of differing opinions. As an adult in this field of politics - you can't just run when you don't agree with the conversation or we, the constituents, will be the ultimate losers.

Good for Eric for showing some cojones and not kowtowing to the extreme right in this primary race.

A MassResistance apologist, like Martinez, is totally unelectable in this district.

She learned that in 2006.

She learned that again in 2008.

She'll learn that yet again next month.

I wish I had a nickel for each time I heard a candidate preach change. I hear it but don't see it. We're on the same old tracks to financial ruin.
The hole just gets deeper and deeper. Does anyone really believe what they say? Does anyone care?

Sounds like Dahlberg is a protege of John Kerry. So, he supports the homosexual agenda and was for the tax cut before he was against it. He doesn't know whether he is for the ballot question. As far as I know, there will be no place on the ballot for "neither of the above." Dahlberg hasn't worked on the Parents Rights Bill because he is not a parent. This guy should run, but not for the State Senate.

Sandi had the guts to run against Fargo when no one else did. Dahlberg's minions have done nothing but make fun of her because she didn't prevail, even though no Republican defeated a Democratic incumbent in those 2 cycles.

I've been a Republican forever, but I don't know if I can make myself vote for Dahlberg. Of course I'd rather slice my throat than vote for Fargo, so if Dahlberg somehow wins the primary, I'll sit that one out. He has not earned my vote.

sandi and her lackeys are vicious bigoted hatemongers trying to push their own insane agenda. just google mass resistance and see for yourself the people she associates with.

if sandi wins the primary i am definitely voting for fargo, exactly as i have in the past. in my mind, sandi "i'm not a budget person" martinez has no relevant qualifications. none.

The person that will get my vote is the one with business experience in the private sector rather than a career politician. Eric has only worked in the public sector as an elected offical or as an associate for the states Commonwealth Connector healthcare bureaucracy.
Sandi has much experience in the private sector working for IBM and then starting her own IT consultant company.
Based on what we know about Eric, I fear that he would just be another bureaucrat with little real world experience. All he ever talks about is government run health care because that's his world. I'm not looking for another 'career' politician, rather a citizen who wants to contribute a portion of his/her time to the community and then return to the private sector. Sandi is the clear choice here.

Eric works in the private sector now, TruthbeTold. Stop listening to Team Sandi's deranged talking points.

And Sandi's IT skills are apparently a little rusty - her web site's issues page is still "under construction"... despite the fact that this is her third attempt at this seat.

Instead of tooling around with MassResistance, she should update her web site.

Really? Campaigning full time is a job in the private sector now? He never stops spinning his resume does he?

Dahlberg's backers have been doing something even Susan Fargo never did - smear Sandi with vicious personal attacks. Shame on him and them - I will oppose Dahlberg for anything he runs for in the future because of this.
So far all they can come up with is: she lost twice to Fargo (when Republicans couldn't get arrested in this state), she's a conservative Republican, and, gasp!, she holds traditional values. Oh the horrors!

If a 'Moms' Group', veterans and men and women in the military support Sandi, then how can you call her 'extreme right?'
Eric needs to work on being more 'tolerant' not Sandi!!

Her insane agenda means cutting taxes and reducing the size of government. I hate paying higher taxes too. Guess that makes me a hatemonger too. Oh well, I can live with that.

Martinez has made her own past bids for office, running two failed campaigns against Lincoln Sen. Susan Fargo in 2006 and 2008. She’s also a former regional director for the Coalition for Marriage, which ran the unsuccessful effort to ban same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. Clearly Martinez knows the winning formula for conservative Republicans in the Bay State.(As a side note, to get an idea of the folks who gravitated to Martinez’s campaign, here’s an article from the Chelmsford Independent with a photo showing Martinez giving an envelope-stuffing demo to volunteer Sally Naumann, the MassResistance activist who at a state Education Committee hearing in 2007 testified that gay people were responsible for the Holocaust.)

The vicious attacks continue. What a hideous name you have chosen. Why do you have so much vitriol? You have a personal problem based upon your comments; it is seething out of you. If these are the people Mr. Dahlberg attracts to him I feel bad for him.

According to Eric's blog, he quit his job: http://ericdahlberg.blogspot.com/2010/06/toda...
In that article he said "I plan on giving 100 percent to campaigning." Perhaps it's just that his idea of giving 100% to campaigning is the same as his idea of working on the Board of Selectmen 100%.

Those aren't comments. I remember this story. I don't think quoting an article constitutes a vicious attack. The article was written because Sandi was angry that the State GOP chair did an interview with Bay Windows, a GLBT newspaper.

Dahlberg is a Democrat in sheep’s clothing. His views are the same old, same old Massachusetts politics. When will the registered voters in the Commonwealth ever learn? It is time this state starts electing common sense candidates like Sandi to represent us on Beacon Hill. Sandi would make a great State Senator. She puts her heart and soul in her convictions.

Mr. Dahlberg lead the charge and was successful in shutting down a tea bagger rally.

That's the kind of leadership we need!

Really? He was moaning on Todd Feinburg that he wasn't invited to the Greater Waltham Tea Party Flag Day Rally. More of his spinning??? Eric Dahlberg is a true democrat. He was .... before he wasn't........
