I remember Compton PD. I remember playing outside with my friends and watching them roll up and make drug deals with the thugs. I remember them coming to my neighbor's house (she was a hoodrat) for afternoon delight. They better not bring back Compton PD. Let's remember why there were disbanded in the first place. If you think it's bad now...

Yes, I trully agree with you! I strongly would protest if they bring back the CPD! We donot have the money to bring back the CPD. If someone get benefit from bringing back the CPD, is going to be the mayor(former CPD) and his friends. Think. Think. And think. Why would the mayor spend 1million in a worthless study? Something sounds suspcious. Perphaps, he really wants to fight crime in Compton, or on the other hand he could be up to something. Think. And Think. But, that is my opinion. |

Here we go again, the mayor is always complaining about the Sheriff department. Mr. baca and the sheriff deparment is the best thing that happened To compton in the last 30 years. We need A investitation of what is going on in compton. Compton police department was very criminal in nature, missing drugs, missing guns, one of them just happen to shoot a long beach police. the mayor stated if we do not like what the city counsel,is doing move. How disrespecful. Isadore hall appears to the only one, understand what is going on. the mayor appears to control the rest of the counsel, how sad. We need the state to take over.

So a department full of officers that hate and abuse their own people is somehow better? |

I don't really care for Isadore Hall since he littered the church parking lot with campaign flyers all over the street, cars, lawns, etc. Besides that, I agree with Mayor Perrodin telling people to move. No one goes to city council meetings but they sit back and complain where the mayor can't hear. It doesn't work like that. |

Compton is going to Change. I am going to go the council meetings once a month. If I could do it and I am a college student. I think everyone else could. No wonder the city is like that. No one complains about nothing. I also going to tell people from my block to register to vote and attend the council meetings and actually go up there and vote. If there is any corruption like many of the resident suspect, well, you should stop. I am going to get more involve in my community.
One more thing the sheriff department is not racist, only, because they actually stop you if you look suspicious doesn't mean they are racist; they are actually doing there job. Not, like the CPD. |

"the mayor stated if we do not like what the city counsel,is doing move" I think it should be around. If we don't like what the city council is doing they should get not our vote;however, if people are not involve in Compton and donot care they should move. Instead of complaining in the streets they should go to the city council meetings and complain and start getting involve the local politics! All the gangsters should move. All the people who do not like Compton should move.!!

LoL Sorry for my grammar.

The Sheriffs Department ISN'T all that. Gang killings is on the rise and Compton is STILL in the top precentile of cities with the highest murder rates. It's a mixed bag. I say, they shouldn't have conspired to overthrow Omar Bradley. If Bradley were still mayor maybe the sheriffs dept. would respect the city and it's mayor more. It was Bradley who brought the sheriffs in in the 1st place and HE is who the sheriffs would have been more loyal to.

Compton P.D. shouldnt come back. What makes this time any better than the last time? The last time the police officers barely had working equipment. Each shift was constantly short handed because they didnt have enough officers to patrol the streets. Mayor Bradley was the most crooked of all. The city council and mayor were giving jobs to their respective relatives. Now, they are going to hire a Lt. from L.A.P.D. and ironically her son works for the school police. Neptoism...isnt that a wonderful thing...I guess if your mom is gonna be a chief of police then she will make you asst. chief. Compton P.D. is gonna crash and burn just like the last time. Because the city council will vote them out just like before.

some of you folks are out of touch and listen to bs, I was there in the trenches during the worst times in compton and the pd did a great job in all aspects of crime fighting and taking care of the good citizens. the lasd boys only patrol the main arteries of the city and are afraid to cruise the neighborhoods like they should. word is they have to have deps from other stations work on their days off in compton cause the regulars compton guys take all the time off they can so they don't have to work in a scarie area. find out how many homicides have been solved since lasd took over just as an example of their quality of work. the new or old pd back would be bvgood for the citizens whcih is want everyone should consider.

Yes, back in the day the P.D. did well but with the lack of funds, equipment, training, and a corrupt city council they only went so far. Yes, people were pissed because L.A.S.D came in but OMAR BRADLEY and The CITY COUNCIL did the P.D. in. I was there when the city council voted them the P.D. out. And the mayor nor the city council listened to the citizens or the police officers. But discrediting the L.A.S.D. isnt going to help. They are doing their job and getting second hand info is just that second hand.
|
||||
Now, I understand why I only see cops like every 5 mins in some streets and some other street you don't see the LASD for at least a month. Why be scared!! Compton is changing and don't be scared. HOPEFULLY things get better in Compton. |

I think it is time that the citizens of Compton got involved. Major Perrodin is corrupt. Funny that the LT from LAPD he hired to start working on bringing Compton pd back has a son that works for Compton School Police (which will probably be your new pd). The Sheriff's dept gives the city of compton some many resources. Major Perrodin wants full control and with the sheriff's dept he does not get that. The Sheriff's dept makes an extreme amount more arrests than the pd ever did. If you want to be mad at somebody be mad at the District Attorney's office for letting people go or giving them weak sentences. As for being scared, whoever said that is an idiot. You bring back the pd and it will fail like last time.
|
||||
How sure are you that he is corrupt? I think Mayor Perrodin wasted to much money only for a study to bring back the CPD. I think it is time for a change in the city council and cityhall. What is the point if they bring back the CPD and you see more gangsters on the streets and more drug dealers. But, lets also look at his good things, he brought the new stores, which brought more jobs. I think we should protest or something if they bring back the CPD. But, I send this message to the people who are running for office, please we need to make Compton a more desirable place to live and work. I a middle-class resident do not want to move out of Compton, only because you guys are making the wrong decisions. |
||||
One more thing, I forgot to mentioned, not everything that is said here is true. So if you claim that the mayor is corrupt he might be or he might not be, I think who ever gets elected MAYOR PERRODIN or William Kemp they could bring more change to Compton. Such as the downtown Compton project or building new national stores chain in Compton Blvd and building the new transit center and the senior center. |
