NO, NO, NO
We saw how well the legalization of gambling has worked for reducing real estate taxes. Absolutely not to an expansion of gambling in PA. |

Video poker to HELP the young?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! |
Is this not the EXACT rationalization N.O.R.M.A.L. has been using for years to legalize marijuana?

Rendell has just got to be the most immoral PA governor, ever. He is simply evil.

What is the worst part is that he doesn't even want to put them in a controlled environment where PSP have oversight say at the "Casino", but allow every Tom, Dick and Harry bar owner who's machines are supplied by some vending company who is financed by the mafia who takes his cut every week.
Yes, Rendell's scheme of "legal" corruption is never ending. He is as slick as the grease in his veins. |

I think we can make alot from prostitution too, maybe we can use the taxes to help fund sex education...

Typical of Rep. Reichley, doesn't know the differance beteen a chicken and a rabbit.

As long as the government can make a buck off of it, they will legalize it. Next it will be hookers to help fund STD's and dental programs for the low income families. I am sure if they legalize these machines, they won't pay out like they do now.

Those machines are always going to be in the clubs regardless of what the state decides. They will never go away. There would be more regulation on how these machines pay out. The vendors control the payouts now and if you have ever played some of those machines, they never seem to payout.
The choice is have them in the clubs and all the money stays with the vendors and clubs or a portion of the money goes to the state. |

We were promised lots of tax relief from the Casinos; where is it? IF this goes through, it will be the same; a lot of friend$ and campaign contributors will get the proceeds while the people get the shaft.
Smart political move on Rendell's part: because the initative is supposed to pay for education, those opposed to it for good reason will be accused of being aainst education. . |

So. Let me get this right. There is a huge budget deficit and cheesteak eddy is talking of lay offs and furloughs. Potentially sending many families into such a financial tailspin that they will most likely never recover.
But yet he wants to add video poker so he can help with tuition for the few kids who may or may not benefit? Oh yes I remember now. We have slots because we now have prppert tax relief from the school board Nazis. Did I miss something? Don't blame me. I didn't vote for him and anyone who did should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and go bury their head in the sand. You should be publically flogged. |
well finally, cheesesteak eddie gets it! its a shame you did not do it a few yearsg ago, but better now than never before they all the clubs fail.
Eddie sure knows how to tax us PA-er's. He can find things to tax that know one ever would have thought of!! Ask him to control spending to limit taxes or give tax relief, he suddenly clams up tight and stumbles for excuses. this man is useless as utters on a bull!!
Fools and their money are soon parted.
Make video poker and slots as common as vendng machines and put them in every area where the public gathers. |
Even if they DO legalize it, they still won't be able to control it. There are so many out there already that it seems that Rendell just wants to give in.
I don't know... I never saw anything wrong with them. What they seem to forget is that having the machine is NOT illegal. It only becomes illegal when the establishment pays off on them. |
corruption gone wild, this will not help you or your childeren at all,it will put money in the greedy government and colleges pockets that only care about one thing! what did you get with the bank bailout it helped nothing. are we all ******* blind.
So, let's encourage people to gamble, we know they will lose, and thus we plan on people purposefully losing money to pay for someone's college. Can we actually set up a program whereby we can identify specific gamblers who will sign on to have their losses specifically directed to key needy students? Kind of like a walk-a-thon, only a Gamble-a-thon. I can get my kids to find sponsors who will gamble and lose $60,000 (schools we are looking at are only around $15,000 per year, so I'm not asking for much), and have those losses directed toward a responsible citizen's education.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

This was an inevitable result of approving casinos in Pa. It is following the W. Va. model with all bars and restaurants having a room of up to 5 machines---smoking allowed in those rooms as well in W. Va. just as smoking allowed in casinos.
so now that the state has its hands out looking for more money , video poker is ok. Next they will be moving to legalize all drugs and of course they will have a tax for that too!!
