When did the preliminaries take place, and how do the girls get the information so that they can enter the pageant? I have a beautiful 16-yr. old granddaughter who I think would do well, and several teenage friends who would do well also. I never hear anything about these pageants until the finalists are picked.

Exactly, it's stupid. Not sure why it garners any attention, obvious from the "sponser" part that it's about money and select list of candidates. Guess someone makes money on it??

Do you know the girls? These are not girls from families with money or even a name in Paris. The money comes from sponsorships and I think contestants pay a fee to cover the costs of the pageant that happens in a big empty room at a local location. As for finalists, I think all that sign up are finalists.

I've not seen Miss Teen Paris represent anything in our city. I always attend the July 4th and Christmas parades and have not seen her. The Crape Myrtle Queen is always in those parades and that's just a give-me title from PHS garden club. It used to have some meaning when young ladies were nominated by the various garden clubs but now it's whoever PHS chooses from their school club.

Information was in The Paris News as to how to enter. All of these girls are not from wealthy families. I'm sure Ms. Morton would love to have many girls from Paris to enter.

It is very up setting to the young girls to know that they are pretty and talented and the title will always go to the girl that the parents and family have donated the most. Seen it happen several times.

I think that (Count to 10) hit the nail on the head

It's all who you know and who has the most money. Never based on Talent or Beauty.

Clarify???? I have read the posts and been at some of the pageants and a lot of what is posted is true. If you had a child that was in that and the public that was there said the child had it hands down talent and pretty. Then the judges selected a child that was clumsy and not that good looking but her family had made very substantial contributions to the promoters what the hell would think. That is a fact.

I am betting that it was your child that did not win and you are jealous.

The public does not call a football game or a pagent. It is the judges and reffs.
just wondering

So, is it true that whomever gets voted the People's Choice (where audience members can pay $1.00 to vote) automatically wins Miss Teen Paris? I was at the pageant and I believe another contestant should have been voted Miss Teen Paris. Not only was she a beautiful girl, she excelled at school and sports, and she had a great stage presence. If it is based on who can raise the most money, that is so sad and unfair!! I guess that's the real world.

Paige should have won. She's a beautiful girl on the inside and out. She's truly a sweetheart. She truly stood out among the other contestants.

I think Snowy White should have won. She is a model student and she presented herself very well during the pageant. She also won the photogenic portion of the pageant, that speaks for itself. I think the winner is determined by money. So not right, but then again that's our society today!

Paige is also a model student and is very dedicated to the many activities that she is involved in at Paris High.

Paige and Snowy White are both class acts! They are sweet, compassionate and I have alot of respect for both of them.

From what I know the winner is also a nice young lady.

A few of the other contestants are not sweet little girls. They are rude to other girls in their classes at Travis. They think they are better than everybody else. I wish the judges could catch a glimpse of the way these girls are in their everyday life.

I agree with you that both young ladies are class acts. I do not know anything about the winner. I do have the utmost respect for all of the girls because it took a lot of courage to get up in front of those people. You are right when you said too bad the judges couldn't see the girls true sides. I have heard that some of the girls are very rude and just put on a show for the judges.

All of these girls should have won. I agree. They r great girls. But don't be hating and shi tting on the girl that won. Why are you so full of jealsy and hat that you would challang the winner. If u feel that way. Why did you notake a complaint to the judges. Instead you are craping out of your mouths that your kid should have won. That is gay. And stupid. You Are a hater and should be ashamed that you are being soo stupid.
