I remember reading an obituary sometimes last year about Anita's passing. From what I can remember, she was living in Cooper, Texas (Delta County) and I think that's is where they had her funeral and she was buried. She had three sons: Kim, Brad & Buddy. I knew the family a long time ago when the boys were very young. Until I read the obituary in The Paris News I did not know what had happened to this family. Anita had a sister (Sandy) and they worked at Campbell Soup in Paris. Anita was a good woman. She just had a hard, rough life. I did not know about any health issues.

Anita Combs Asay passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Greenville, TX. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She had three sons (Kim Burden, Brad Burden, and Buddy Burden) and three sisters (Sandy Turner, Teresa Machen, and Donna Bailey). She was a former residence of Pecan Gap. Anita was a very nice woman who loved her family dearly and they loved her in return.

I knew Anita many years ago when she lived at the house in Pecan Gap. I lost touch with her over the years, but remember Brad, and Kim.
I don't think I ever met Buddy. I do remember meeting her sister Sandy, and I knew her mom and dad.
I'm sorry to hear about her passing. She was a good person who had a hard life.
It could not have been easy for her in a wheelchair. But when I knew her she wasn't letting it get her down.
RIP Anita

Today just happened to be another day I looked for Anita. When she would cross my mind, I would look online at Facebook, Paris news, and call information. I always had a very soft spot for her. I had a car wreck when I was 18 and was in a rehabilitation center in Gonzales, Texas and she was my roommate. She was so funny and loved that we shared a room. I was afraid maybe one day I would find out she had passed away. There are some people you never forget and I will never forget her. I am really glad I have found this post about her. Thank you. I can stop looking now.
