The people that actually want to hold a job have by and large left L.A. for places that care about keeping business. The majority of the people that are left in L.A. want hand-outs and feel entitled to them, with a city council that is more than happy to keep trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip.

Raising the minimum wage, tax increases, increased regulation, welfare program for illegal immigrants and recent immigrants, and bigger government have proven to be a disaster for California as fiscal conservatives knew they would. Socialism always fails.

But this is what Obama and his fans have planned for the entire country.

Too bad the report doesn’t paint a truer picture of the job market…it does not tell of the people who had to take pay cuts or who have to work outside of their college degree profession meaning doing blue collar work or people who just simply got tired of trying to find work but can’t find any work and stopped looking….

Economists can predict all they want but I think if economists knew what they were doing, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. I am not a communist but I hate to admit that I observe Karl Marx's predictions coming to fruition before our very eyes. We have no economic vehicle to pull us out of recession. And since our schools have failed in educating the next generation, it seems as if a new economic catylst won't be created anytime soon, if ever again.

Solution: Start with education to create enough qualified people to create a "green" economy that will be energy efficient and create the new economic mechanism necessary. If for example Americans created a fully electric vehicle, that would eliminate a huge portion of our dependence on foreign oil.

It might be too late

There were some economists that did predict this economic meltdown but no one was listening, as far who is to blame I blame bush-cheney the massive corruption in government the media the lack of a free press... The U.S.A of today is not the same U.S.A of twenty years ago we have been spiraling downward in all areas of life from freedom civil liberties gab between rich and poor and the list just goes on and on…. As far as a green economy surprisingly California is a world leader in the technology just not enough infrastructure to shift the unemployed to this job market…but maybe that may change in time…

It's the 20% unemployment of the high school dropouts (that's 50% of all LAUSD kids) that's driving this number. For college grads, unemployment is still single digit.

Sorry buddy, Bush is the one who warned what would happen if the subprime loans continued to be handed out. He predicted this in 2006 when the Democrats controlled congress and they refused to stop the loans to unqualifed borrowers. Maxine Waters and Barney Frank, both Democrats, went as far as calling people racist who wanted to stop these loans which led to an artificial rise in home loans and to its downfall.

What campaign promises has Chairman O kept, anyway?

He said he'd "create" thousands of jobs.....
.....and the ignorant sheeple believed him.....
Unemployment is still rising.

Said he'd get the US out of "senseless wars"......
.....and the easily manipulated masses believed him......
We're still in Iraq and are increasing troops in Afghanistan.

Said he'd close Gitmo down.....
.....and the slobbering citizens believed him......
Guantanamo is still in operation.

And now about 'Universal Health Care......
......The mentally challenged will still believe that the heavens will part,
and it will all come raining down like manna.

Chairman O shoots his mouth off, shoots from the hip, is full of shoot.

Hey, we have plenty of legal Americans that can't read or write nevermind find a new career, so maybe we can offer them the job of picking strawberries or tomatoes, if they can do it correctly!

I agree and disagree. There are a lot of people here in L.A. with a lazy work ethic that want hand outs; however, there are a lot of hardworking people who have either been laid off, salary slashed or just can't get work because someone wants to hire another who will work for a $5/hr wage that doesn't make sense. The ones who left apparently found opportunities elswhere, but that isn't guaranteed for everyone. There are people who have to be here, period. The problems in California are a result of years of stupidity combined with everything that is going on right now.

Too many people are blaming the recession, if you were a drop out and low earner or wasting your money before the recession chances are you are really bad off today too. Cycles come and go, next time I hope you are ready to remember our history.

Also, it's some of the voters and residents fault as well. Enough said about the voters becasue they keep electing these crooks. As far as the residents, there are a lot of people who tried to live well beyond their means and weren't financailly conservative enough to look ahead.
