I live in Sunland Tujunga. It has a city councilman, We have a Fire Station LASD.
We have schools in LAUSD.
Mike Antonovich may still have an Administrative Assistant that lives in Alpine Village, part of LA City, and Sunland Tujunga.
No wonder we cant get our roads and street lights to be fixed, no one knows we are here.

The State Board of Equalization would be happy to investigate this also since taxes do fall under their jurisdiction. Yes the city does have a border of jurisdictional bounderies. Unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County don't have no allegiance to cities that are incorporated. Their representations come from Los Angeles County administration. State of California code would put an end to City of Los Angeles collections done beyond their line of service. Unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County are not under any cities taxation laws. Unincorporated areas belong and fall under LACOUNTY codes. If business taxes were collected not on behalf of Los Angeles County these taxes must be returned to tax payers, or else the State Board of Equalization can come in and take those revnues from the city and let it float in their general fund until the City of Los Angeles retracts its taxation and County of Los Angeles can resume its right of taxation to those businesses. The City of Los Angeles has overstepped its legal ordinance on boundery lines.

Some areas of Tujunga are unincorporated serviced by LACOUNTY meaning you probably see some LACo Sheriff within unincorporated areas and those serviced by LA City would have LAPD. Some cities have unincorporated areas very near to their service areas. If the city wants all of Tujunga they can push for that kind of change through the State of California. But in the mean time City of Los Angeles needs to follow tax law. Seriously State Board of Equalization can get involved.

It is hard to believe the city thinks it can tax beyond its jurisdiction. Other cities implement illegal acts such as Los Angeles city government, no they dont. Shame on you LA CITY. The county of Los Angeles should tax all withing city limits and apply that same tax rule you guys are pooling. If anything i have seen many business from City of lOS Angeles operate in unincorporated areas of LA county, and neighboring cities.

This is all speculation. Where is the proof it actually happened. Someone would have to be very stupid to pay city tax when they know they are not part of the city, but ony county. Edison provides the County with water and power, not the LADWP and the County is patroled by the Sheriffs Dept., not LAPD. Edisonwas busy re-installing power poles in the County Part of Big T last week. During the Station Fire, some L.A. city services didn't even know Sunland-Tujunga was part of L.A. I'm not buying the statement that L.A. is taking tax money that belongs to the county. It appears to me that some in the Accounting section of L.A. County doesn't have their act together.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Pisces

You're lacking in energy and resources today, which will soon slow you down and make you feel as though you're wading through treacle. The only way to cope is to have as many breaks as possible, and not to set yourself impossible goals that you could never hope to meet. You're also very susceptible to the criticisms or put-downs of others, but do your best to ignore them.
