Whaaaaaa

You're 16. It was the junior prom. Who remembers their junior prom? You have another one to go to next year. Get over it!

I can't believe this is even taking up space in the paper, much less sending a crew out to talk to these spoiled brats and useless parents.

What a waste! Among myriad problems hard-working adults are having- for one, nobody can afford to put gas in their cars- and we have to be subject to hearing about a bunch of kids whose overdone, pretentious night out was ruined. Get a grip!

Next time save your money and put it in a bank account. You'll need it for gas when mommy and daddy kick you out of the house.

"Commack High School principal Russell J. Stewart said he was unaware of what happened after the prom. While he wants to help his students as much as possible, he said, there is nothing the district can do for the students since the problem occurred off campus."

It's nice to know this guy is making a fortune and doesn't even oversee one of the biggest events in HS!

These freakin' admins are really all just receiving White Collar Welfare; they get money for pretending to work.

Just another story of people having to much money wahhhhh!!! I highly doubt any of those kids mowed lawns, delivered papers, waited tables to afford to go to the prom. Keep spoiling your children America!

I got to grope Patty Slimanski in a '56 Plymouth at my prom. The year was 1965. The night cost me $3. Then I went in the Marines.

Somehow this story in Newsday ain't breaking my heart.

In case you didn't read carefully, this was an AFTER PROM event- schools have no control or knowledge of these events because they want no liability for anything that would go wrong. Ignorance is bliss, and its not their job.

The mother of one kid is 39 -meaning she had a kid when she was 22. At this rate she will be a grandmother at 44 - that goes over well in the trailer parks.

No, my friend, the poster you replied to did read it carefully. I agree with him, an event this important certainly should be overseen by the school admin. Believe me, they know how to stick their nose in what they WANT to stick their nose in, regardless of when it takes place. The fault here clearly belongs to the club owner, but for the supe to say he had no knowledge of what was planned after the prom is dumb. The entire JR class in his school knew what was planned and he didn't have a clue? I bet he knows where his 200K a year comes from, doesn't he?
