Unsafe acceleration problems for Toyota and Lexus cars.

An excellent investigative article in the Los Angeles Times today November 8, 2009
documents corruption by the National Highway Safety Administration in its corrupt failure to properly investigate and report such incidents and arbitrarily exclude some. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-fi-toyot... .
Here is a quotation from this excellent article by Ralph Vertabedian and Ken Bessinger:

“More than 1,000 Toyota and Lexus owners have reported since 2001 that their vehicles suddenly accelerated on their own, in many cases slamming into trees, parked cars and brick walls, among other obstacles, a Times review of federal records has found.

The crashes resulted in at least 19 deaths and scores of injuries over the last decade, records show. Federal regulators say that is far more than any other automaker has experienced...”

Everyone considering the purchase of a Toyota or Lexus automobile, or has experienced such problems themselves, should read the excellent investigative 3 page article at the above link immediately.

An excellent follow up investigative article today November 28, 2009 in the Los Angeles Times at this link: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-toyota-... .

This article deals with claims that it is the electronic throttle system causing unprovoked acceleration problems, not floor mats.
